Diva Guest House is a Backpackers heaven in the sense that they can arrange absolutly everything for you. No need to go looking and seraching for tours buses cooking classes or whatever you need. this guys already did your homework and they do find you the best option. the hostel is practical has everything you need. is clean and nice looking. they have a rooftop garden to chill. it is run by a Irin and Sid. Irin is thai Sid is German. great match. Because Sid explains everything there is to explain and Irin arranges everything there is to arrange. I am well travelled backpacker and I trusted this guys completly. I truly recomend this hostel to get the most out of Chein Mai. Location is fantastic also.

For nearly rock-bottom prices, Diva 2 Guesthouse provides a basic, slightly dysfunctional room, toilet, shower, and fan. It's an adequate place to crash for a few days, but don't expect anything comfortable or affirmatively pleasant. At best, it fails to be unpleasant. If you're nitpicky, this is not the place for you. It feels more like a storage locker for sleeping bodies than a "guesthouse," which connotes a certain warmth or hospitality. Neither the facilities nor the service distinguish it from the wide selection of other hostels / guesthouses in Chiang Mai like the charm or friendly service of its sister location (Diva "1" Guesthouse on Ratpakinai (SE quadrant of the old city)).

LOCATION: Although the address appears to be correct, the Tripadvisor map is completely wrong - it shows a location in Chiang Rai. Diva 2 Guesthouse is near Sompet Market: Go west down Moon Muang Road (away from the moat), past Tea Tree House, and turn right at the first intersection, where there is a little orange and purple sign that directs you to Diva 2. It's on your left.

The proximity to Sompet Market is great as there are many nearby restaurants and street stalls with tasty and inexpensive food, rental shops for bicycles and scooters, many other guesthouses if you decide to extend your stay and your guesthouse is fully booked, and travels services that arrange everything from adventure tours to visa runs to the border.

ROOM:
We had a basic room with twin beds, a shower, a fan (no A/C, but it wasn't really necessary), toilet, and outlet.

The room had a pad lock instead of a working lock & key in the door/doorknob, so when you're inside, you have to lock it with a sliding bolt that cannot be opened from the outside. This is secure enough in the daytime but can be inconvenient if one person goes to sleep and the other person is out late. For the other person to get in, you either have to (1) leave the door open and unbolted or (2) wake up the person inside to come unbolt the door. The former option is moderately secure because after hours, the front door to the whole complex is locked, and you have to have a key to get in the gate. I suppose, you have to worry only about the trustworthiness of other guests or anyone they happen to let in. In any event, it would be better if the locks on the doors simply worked.

The walls are very thin, so just hope you have considerate neighbors. One night, we were not so lucky as our neighbors carried on raucously into the early hours of the evening, and I could hear them clearly enough to participate in the conversation if I had so desired even though I was using earplugs.

BATHROOM:
If it matters to you, be forewarned: The bathroom is very very small and everything will get wet when you shower. For the low price, I didn't care as long as the shower had adequate pressure and temperature.

The door to our bathroom also did not close properly because it was warped from extensive water damage, so a little water would spray / leak out into the room. No big deal, but a lot of little things were off like this.

SERVICES:
- There was supposed to be breakfast offered at the rooftop cafe, but the day we enquired about it, they said there was no breakfast being served. We never tried again. It was fine since there are a number of good places to get breakfast nearby (Da's Bakery, Tip's Smoothies, which has yogurt and muesli with fresh fruit, the street vendors in the market itself, etc.).

- During our four-night stay, there was no cleaning service (no trash pick-up, new sheets, etc.)

- It's basically a hostel; there are no toiletries, which are easily obtained from a nearby pharmacy or 7-11.

- Wifi was terrible. I could rarely sustain a signal and usually just went to a restaurant or cafe that had free wifi.

- The manager was neither friendly nor rude. Mostly, it just felt like he was simply going through the motions of doing his job.
