I stay at Rarinjinda Wellness Spa for 7 Nights in May. The hotel is ok in terms of size and location, and service. BUT the BEDS ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE !!! The beds are so hard....I make a coment with them about have a hard beds, so the guests need a massage. But overall the Hotel is good. The location are fantastic on the river, and have a Very Good Restaurant ! The staff are very nice and warm, but many to young people that have no experience spacially in front desk. The Breakfast is a litle boring and breads are not well sorted. The best think in this place is the SPA, and the doctor who make the reccomendation for treatment it is very good, and the treatments are Fantastic. In fact I think they should mention that this place is more for those who want visit Thailand for them treatments and massage. If they change the Beds and make more comfortable will be an smart decision, and the Hotel can be perfect .

This is our second stay at this lovely boutique hotel and spa. We first stayed here in 2009 for a few nights after fleeing a terrible large chain hotel. This time we decided to stay 7 nights.
The hotel is in a great location on the west bank of the Ping river, which makes it a short walk into town, the markets, restaurants and so on.
The staff are very attentive and speak pretty good English (much better than my Thai!)
The spa is wonderful, and offers a wide range of treatment options that are very good value. Some nice touchs like the complimentary sticky rice and mango after each treatment make it a little bit more special.
As with last time the pool access room we booked is lovely, clean, spacious and quiet. My only complaint with the room is that the bed is VERY firm. This isn't a problem for my wife, but I'm a big guy with broad shoulders and it is quite uncomfortable for me.

Overall though this is a lovely place to stay as a base for adventures around Chiang Mai, or as a luxurious getaway in itself. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

it was a great warm welcome at the entrance with sincere hospitality...it was our first time being in chiang mai...we took up almost 90% of the hotel rooms with our group...you could feel that the team who were working there was doing their best to keep the highest standards of the hotel service...spa treatment was good with their hydro pool...f&b crew was awesome...everyone there was very helpful...one minor problem but again, it was part of the hotel concept was the restaurant is across the stress...lucky it was not a rainy season during the time we were there...eheheheee....it was a bit hard as am a smoker and the whole hotel is a "non smoking" hotel but again,it makes the stay nice, fresh, clean and comfortable...am looking forward to my own personal trip back there again...as what i know, the building use to be a hospital but have been rebuild and touch up to be a boutique hotel...

This was my first trip to Chiang Mai and I was visiting my son who lives close to rarinjinda which is why I selected this hotel...... and from the moment I arrived I knew this was the BEST choice! The beautiful, peaceful surroundings and cleanliness.. superb! The staff very accomadating and friendly and welcoming!!! Especially Karen who was the first to greet me!! Thank you Karen for your kindness!! As a nurse, discovering the history of the property where Rarinjinda stands added charm. The Spa service was convenient , upscale, and delightful! I will return here if I return to Chiang Mai again!!

Room Tip: I was on second floor overlooking pool... perfect!

We stayed here for our honeymoon. The hotel.was great and the staff friendly, we stayed just after the troubles and everything was as if nothing had happened!

Breakfasts was served in a restaurant over the road from the hotel but at least you looked over the river.

This was a good hotel to discover the local area, there where bars and restaurants about 200 meaters from the hotel.

With only a 10 min walk in to the main shopping area.

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location with the simple pleasures of good Thai hospitality .
There is unfortunately an honest but... This hotel does not gave a bar or resturant they use the facilities of one across the road so in essence there is no room service or ability to have a late night tipple. The staff are as you'd expect of Thai national - very beautiful and kind people but their English is adequate at the very best and their local knowledge for higher end tourists is poor. You also need to
know if you want to use any of the hydro pools or steam facilities it
costs extra per use..., not what I'd
expect for the room rate.

All in all it lovely but nOt quite as amazing as the reviews in a significant wor

Dear quirky76,

Thank you for your review.

In regard to your comment on the room service, we do provide in-room service meals for hotel guests for both in-room and on-property (eg. Swimming pool deck). Guests can also enjoy meals at the hotel's restaurant on the riverside, Deck1. The restaurant opens from 7am - midnight. Obviously, the restaurant has been designed for guests to enjoy their meals or drinks on the table and chair setting which may not be familiar for some guests, especially the Europeans who prefer to drink at the bar.

In regard to the heated hydrotherapy pool and herbal steam, these services require supervision of the staff, so these service has some charges. These are facilities for spa treatments in which the water helps massage the guests. However, we do provide complimentary swimming pool, wellness consultation with the doctor and yoga classes for our hotel guests to enjoy during their stay. These services are usually at charge at other spa resorts.

In terms of the communication, we strive our best to have the best staff to serve eg. english-speaking, chinese-speaking, french-speaking and japanese-speaking staff. During that time, the japanese-speaking staff was on duty. However, if there are problems with communication, our duty manager is readily-available to service the customers.

We appreciate your comments and will do our best to improve our service to meet customer satisfaction.

Yours Sincerely,
RarinJinda Wellness Spa Resort Management
