Nice room and staff are friendly. The place is near weekend market and tha-pae gate. Many interesting temples are around. Price is reasonable.

This hotel is well located within the city centre. You can walk to many restaurants and other attractions from here. The staff are very friendly and helpful and always smiling. We arrived and were given wet face clothes to clean our hands and a delightful lemon grass drink. The hotel does not have an elevator so the staff delivered our bags to our room. You can book tours and massages from the tour staff though we did not use this option. Our room had a view of the Wat next door. Breakfast was held in the neighboring restaurant and had three options - continental, American or Asian breakfast. We tried the continental and American and both were good. WiFi had good access and speed was very good. The room was nicely decorated. The only thing to be aware of is there are no in-room safes, but we did not find this to be problematic and had no issues leaving our things in the room. We stayed here at the beginning of Songkran and enjoyed many festivities just outside the front door.

My wife and I stayed at the Parasol Inn during our vacation over Christmas and it was an awesome experience. The location is great in the Old Town, next door to one of the nicer temples in Chiang Mai. We walked everywhere and rented a scooter only the days when we wanted to see things outside of Chiang Mai.

Nim at the front desk was super nice and always willing to help us plan our days. Everyone at the Parasol was friendly though, definitely the nicest staff we found in our trip throughout Thailand. We even met the owners during the employee and guest Christmas party, which was really fun; the owners said they only hired people who thought of the Parasol Inn as a family and it shows, the people working there are great.

The rooms are decorated very nicely, not the standard white or pastel walls you normally find in Thailand. The daily breakfast is good and in a nice open patio, nice way to start the day.

I can't say enough good things about the Parasol Inn and when we return to Thailand, we will definitely be visiting Chiang Mai again and staying at the Parasol in.

One tip: In Chaing Mai there is an awesome fruit shake stand in the Somphet Market (in the northeast corner of the old town), the shakes are awesome and she also makes great fruit bowls for breakfast. You won't regret the effort to find it!

I chose Parasol Inn after doing a lot of research online. I wanted a place that was affordable for a budget-minded traveler, well-located, comfortable, clean, quiet, with friendly, responsive staff. Parasol turned out to be a perfect choice and provided all that I was hoping for, and even a bit more. There were some charming touches, such as the elephant that was sculpted from the bath and hand towels. I could walk easily to many of the most important temples, and there were many excellent restaurants also within walking distance. The staff members were a joy; kind, knowledgeable, eager to be of service. Ning and Nim on the front desk, the hotel driver Lala, and Sai in their adjoining restaurant all felt like friends by the time I left. I hope to return to Chiang Mai in the future and if that works out, Parasol will absolutely be my first choice for lodging.

I recently stayed at the Parasol Inn in Chiang Mai. The hotel is located in the center of the Old City, within walking distance to temples and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and accomodating and the breakfast was pretty good albeit of limited selection.
My room was clean and quiet, as requested. However, it did not have a window. They also have rooms with windows but these rooms face the street and are thus exposed to street noise.
Overall, I was satisfied with my stay.
The only negative was the street market on Sunday which took place in the surrounding streets which were closed for cars during that time. Thus, starting on Sunday afternoon and lasting into the night the hotel can only be reached by food through crowded streets.

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the hotel are very quiet although they do not have a window.
