Theres not much to say; its a very good place to stay. Its just outside the old city of chiang mai, they have decent rooms for good prices and they have really good food. Also; they have a lot of information about things you can do and are able to help you with practically anything. Booked a jungle trekking there and my trainticket back to bangkok! Recommending this place for backpackers that want a little privacy and couples of any age!

Two Irish travellers having done a trek before in Vietnam can say this is a well recommended company to tour with. The success of any trek doesn't necessarily mean the surrounds but the quality of the guide. Our guide was montree who was very entertaining from start to finish, full of info on the local area and a great facilitator to suit all our needs.

Food was the best wev had since coming to Thailand, lots of swimming throughout the days to help cool us off, and bamboo rafting to finish was the highlight!

If your looking for a trustworthy company to do a trek with this is it!

we were recommended this by a guy we met in bangkok he had been a few months before and stayed at eagle house 2 we stayed at 1 we emailed directly and got a nice response so booked here 320thb for a twin with air con sounded great, not so when we arrived we were in room 111 which for 320 thb a night isnt much but would expect to be able to close the bathroom door and it not swing wide open all the time cant have shower in privacy for this reason not so good if you were travelling with people you dont really know that well, there are cracks in the tiles all over the room which you can cut your feet on and the bed was the most uncomfy thing i have ever slept on the air con was useless on the first night so was like sleeping in a sauna, the staff seemed disinterested and did our food orders wrong bit of a language barrier, we opted to move after 2 nights and found a much nicer place for not much more. plus side the wifi was ok and the trips are supposed to be good but we didnt book with them as there was no interest shown in selling them to us.

We stayed at Eagle House 1 in Feb 2010. The courtyard was gorgeous staff were great, rooms were very basic but that's all we needed. We did their cooking class one day at Eagle House 2. It was awesome, the teacher (Visutt) was hilarious. We ate and laughed all day long. We unfortunately didn't go on a trek because of lack of warm clothing but we did do the zip lining through Flight of the Gibbons; another great fun filled day. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: Warm clothing because while it is hot during the day, it does get chilly at night.

I was at eagle house one: just outside old town. The room was oke, service was great, friendly staff. If you need anything, they arranged it without going for the cheapo tourist trips. Eco minded. Nothing more I can say but to fill 200 characters.

I stayed with a friend at Eagle House 1 for a total of 5 nights.
The location of Eagle House 1 is great, in a little quiet road ... only 5min to walk to the center of Chiang Mai and about 20min to the night market. (we paid 150 Baht for a taxi from train station)

Our first two nights were great ... we stayed in one of the upstairs air-con rooms for 320 Baht per night. Hot water shower, little balcony, towels and warm blankets (it did get cold at night).

About a week later we returned from Pai and decided to stay at Eagle House 1 again ... unfortunately this time we were not that lucky. They only had one of the fan rooms downstairs available, which is right next to the sitting area outside. It was noisy outside until about 11pm and then we could hear noises from upstairs from about 8am every morning. Hard to get a good night sleep before a trekking trip or just for relaxing.
The hot shower water shower in this room was broken and we could only have cold water showers or use the shower in the main building. By the time we got back from our trekking tour it was fixed.

The staff is very friendly and was very helpful with booking our bus to Pai, arranging Taxi pick ups etc.
It was great that you can help yourself with coffee, tea, toast and drinking water and then write everything into your room book and pay at the end.

We did a 2days/1 night trekking tour with Eagle House and it was well organised ... make sure to wear long pants and good trekking shoes!! And make sure to get plenty of drinking water on every station. Pack at least one set of clothes in a waterproof bag/ plastic bag!

You are not suppose to bring any valuables and a max. of 1000 Baht per person for the trekking trip. This was good, since you will have to leave your backpack in the car at some points and there is always the risk of getting everything wet (by rain or falling in a river).

My friend did the cooking course at Eagle House 2 and she had a great time and got a cooking book to take away.

All together, great for activities but for accommodation I would maybe look somewhere else next time!

Room Tip: Room 110/111 upstairs was good! Try to avoid the rooms next to the sitting area downstairs.

Stayed here for 4 nights, we were in Thailand for one and a half months and this was among the worst value for money out of everywhere. We stayed in lots of other places for much less money and a nicer time. There is a lovely courtyard and the food is great, also there's self-service hot drinks which is a nice touch. The room itself is the main quibble, it was very dingy and spartan, not very clean and the bathroom door wouldn't close. Not particularly comfortable but quite manageable. Also it is a bit of a chore sorting anything out admin-wise, we had to give 24 hours notice to get anything out the safe which is annoying when the room is only secured by a tiny padlock, as we didn't want to leave anything in the room such as cameras, phones etc when we went out in the evening. If we were to visit Chaing Mai again we would find somewhere else to stay, definitely.
