“Nice stay and nice staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

The location avoids busy tourism area and yet very convenient. Most spots are almost in walking distance. You can also rent a bicycle or motor to tour around the city.
You must see the nice view from the rooftop! Room is very clean and the whole design(dining area, garden) is very cool.

The Green Tiger is Definitely the nicest and best hostel I've ever stayed in. Daniel, his wife & his staff have created the perfect hostel with a perfect atmosphere to allow you to take in Chiang Mai and the surrounding areas in all it's glory. The pricing is competitive (almost too competitive, they could charge a lot more) The common areas are beautiful and the rooms, bathrooms and showers are a 5 star hostel experience. Absolutely loved my stay here, hope to come back some day, and perhaps ride some bikes with Daniel!

I can't rate this place highly enough, it is with easy the best place I've stayed in in Thailand. Me and my friend took one of the dorm rooms for only 350 baht each- although this is more on the higher end of pricing for hostels it is worth every penny and more.

I had hurt my foot earlier in my travels and within an hour of arriving the owner personally took me to the hospital and picked me up completely free of charge! And after he found out I was going to be on crutches for the next few weeks he offered to personally drive me around to see the sights and markets!

The owner is one of the many reasons this place is so nice, he is one of the nicest people I have met so far in Thailand and will do anything for his guests, he speaks four languages and is more than willing to recommend places to eat or things to do with a completely unbiased view. The other members of staff are also amazing. People say it a lot that the staff are friendly and pleasant but the staff here were genuinely happy to be there and are always up for a laugh.

The food is amazing although slightly more am expensive than some it's around 100 baht a meal and each one is fresh and tasty.

The pool is small but big enough to relax in.

The rooms are incredible- the comfiest beds I've ever slept in and very good air con and a fan. There are two showers and toilets per room of 8 and the showers are very powerful and hot and you get free soap shampoo and conditioner. You also get a locker which is big enough to fit a couple of backpacks in and are very safe.

I could not recommend this place enough and if you're in chiang mai you must stay here.

I highly recommend this place! It was booked for me as a surprise birthday present by my bf - and it was a great present! The rooms are so clean and COMFORTABLE. the bed - i did not want to get out of it. the shower! amazing. the pool! in a lovely little corner tucked away from the main lounge/lobby. The restaurant itself is a lovely garden style with nice comfy chairs. The sandwiches were delicious, and the bruschetta pomodorro was a great surprise! Tasted like my Italian friend's mother's recipe! The only negative is that the food service is slow, or basically non-existent. We constantly had to go find someone to come take our order - i think they just haven't hired a waitress for that back area yet. Free tea and coffee all day and toast in the morning was nice. The staff are very friendly and the owner made a particular effort to check that everything with our stay was well. DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. WOULD 100% GO BACK.

One of the great hostel i would highly recommend to all. Very nice atmosphere. The hostel was newly operate when i visited. The bed was incredible comfortable, the room and toliet were perfectly clean. There was a very nice scent inside the room. There is no lift provided therefore for those not convenient to walk up please request for downstair room. However there is a luggage lift that can fetch up your luggage to the upper floor. There is a small swimming pool inside the hotel compound therefore do remember to bring swimming attire as the hotel do not allowed no proper swimming attire to enter into pool. Hotel owner (He) helpful and friendly. Do ask him or seek for his advice. He personally guided me and showed me the way to convenient shop which require a 5-8 minute walk from the hostel. As you can see the name of the hotel, they only provide vegetarian foods. I dont really enjoy their foods, still lots of improvement needed. The lady boss seem very calculative so be smart look for the owner (He) as he is very easy to talk and very understanding (willing to give and take).

Room Tip: new, clean and comfort room.

I don't usually write reviews but I felt compelled to share with travelers that this place is really special. The rooms are clean and nice, the food is good, but more importantly, the atmosphere is amazing. I met some awesome folks here and we traveled around chiang mai together. The owners are extremely kind and helpful, and go out of their way to ensure that their clientele not only have a good experience at their hotel, but in Chiang mai as well. I really cannot recommend this place enough-- it's one of the best places I've ever stayed.

Perfect place, very friendly owners, even gave me a lift to the pharmacy late night when I needed it. Great hostel, more like a great boutique hotel, for the more discerning traveller. Dorms are spacious, well designed and very comftable beds with proper duvets!

Fantastic shower rooms, great attention to detail throughout the venue. Lovely terrace for drinks overlooking the city.
