We stayed here for a week in Chiang Mai. We chose Rux Thai as a budget option, with a cheaply priced air conditioned room with wi-fi. As a couple, it worked out to cost the same for the two of us to get a decent room here versus staying in a hostel, and this review is from that perspective. If I were to review it independent of budget, I would likely give this hotel 3.5 stars.
That said, the room was clean (and staff cleaned it daily), the wi-fi was solid, and the air-con worked. We had consistent hot water in the shower, so no problems there. There was a fridge and a closet. I will say the bed was a bit firm for my tastes, but we've found that fairly common in south east asia.
The location is outside the Old City, but it's just a five-ten minute walk away. Is between the Old City and the night market area, and there are many bars and restaurants near by. We found the location very convenient, and we had no trouble getting there by tuk-tuk from the airport.More
