good location for the night bazaar and other attractions in Chiang Mai. Rooms were a bit small but clean they could definately do with some maintenance and some "tlc".

Staff are very friendly and helpful and are doing their best.

A quick review of CH!

CLEANLINESS: It was decent; clean enough despite the strange smell of the Lysol. The washroom is quite small; the door won't stay open as is.

EXTRAS: The breakfast was available from 6:30 until 10. A variety of fruit, congee/soup, sausages, eggs, bread, were served. They also have a small pool on the third level.

LOCATION: Good for shoppers; the small market behind the hotel (literally 10 seconds from the backdoor) is good if you can't make it to the Sunday Market. You can find bags and small gifts. However, we were told this market doubles the price of goods and is known for taking advantage of foreigners!

For the Sunday Market, it is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel lobby. It's not bad and the area seems safe enough to walk with just one or two individuals.

It's also about a 15 minute walk to Chinatown.

LANGUAGE: The service was average partially because of the lack of English in my case! If you speak Thai, then this place is fine.

Thank you for your value comments, in a short poem but cleare enought for overall picture especially of the location. However, all of our staff are local people which may need more trainning in English language, and surely that we will try to encourage more in the future.

The staff was just the best in all our stay at Thailand. We took a taxi that was just 100 bath from the airport, when we arrived everybody was just amazing when they realized my husband had a bad knee. The room is cosy and clean, a little old fashioned and maybe some maintanace would be requierd, but who cares! its perfect, very close from anusan night market, you can see it from your room seriously, so as a beautiful Wat. Very quiet, great staff, nice breakfast, helpful mini travel agency that help us with the transportation to doi suthep. With elevator and mini bar. We even used the pool that was clean and lonely just for us :) They kept our lugage so we could enjoy our stay at chiang mai even after chek out. No cons, just pros! After our Bangkok nightmare, chiang mai and especifically this hotel saved our stay in Thailand. There is an amazing local restaurant just in the corner that served the gratest food i've tried at Thailand. We will return for sure!

this hotel seems to have suffered the same as many others in Chiang Mai - this once lovely hotel is very poorly maintained. There is wall paper peeling off the walls in the corridors, the walls and carpets are stained etc. I think the staff keep the hotel as clean as they possible can, the check in staff are friendly and efficient. position is great. Breakfast is a waste of time and not worth the effort of getting out of bed for. I have stayed at this hotel several times but it keeps getting worse each stay so it is highly unlikely that we will be back again. The mattress for the spare bed was very thin and there wasn't a blanket, just sheets - we had to put our own blanket on the bed.

I spent couple of nights in this hotel and have to say - I was satisfied. But that feeling doesn't come from a quality of rooms, it comes from a price I have paid. This hotel is good for somebody who wants to stay in a cheaper middle class hotel with nice buffet breakfast. The price for one night including breakfast was 1000 baht. You can share a room with somebody when you ask for double bed. The room is clean BUT - they really should renovate the bathrooms and especially the shower area... Old plastic drape is just disgusting and the bathtub is also not really clean... The towels need upgrade, they were not smelling best... The location is good, because this hotel is "at the back" of night bazaar, facing a small street, so it is not really noisy as the others which are a bit closer to the nightlife. The bazaar and the night life street, connecting night bazaar area with old city is in the walking distance. Night bazaar - 1 minute, old city 15 minutes or 5 minutes by tuk tuk. The remote of our TV was broken and after complaining at reception, they seemed to do something with it, but later I discovered that it was still broken... The breakfast are nice (except for a fried eggs in a lovely but cold heart shape) and there are thai and european (or better say american) style dishes. Of course - complimentory coffee, tea, water and some kind of juice, but I have never found a really fresh 100 percent one ever in Thai hotels...
So after all, this hotel is a upper budget traveller choice. Good for the guys looking for some thai girlfriends (as there is a backdoor exit opened, so nobody gets really exposed to the lobby) but also for a families on their travels which are not picky about extreme cleaness of bathroom.

Thank you for your value time to give us the most value comments, we will look closedly in some service areas to improvement, together with the condition of room equipment is in our plan for renovation. The back door to Night market is now just temporaly open to make more comfortable to the guest, but that will redesign for suitable entrance in the future.

We stayed at the CH for 5 nights and yes as said in all the other reviews the decor was terrible from the carpet to the wallpaper to the lights in the corridors, however the room and bathroom was clean and perfect for a place to sleep! Towels were slightly stained but were clean and changed on a daily basis.

There was plenty of variety for breakfast however nothing was covered so everything was cold especially as the air conditioning was fairly cold.

We spent a morning by the pool which was lovely and relaxing, pool was clean and very refreshing. if your one for a tan its the perfect location from early morning till around mid afternoon.

All the Staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful cannot fault them one bit!

Location was absolutely perfect, if your not bothered about what colour the rooms are painted then this hotel is actually great value for money!

Whatever you do, just don't go any further than the refurbished ground floor.
Once out of the elevator on any floor, you will be shocked! Peeling paint, heavily stained carpets, broken furniture, broken toilet seats and filthy bathrooms. The best part of it was when I complained, a very polite girl pointed out that they had upgraded my room at no extra cost. I wonder what the standard rooms are like.
We ran out of there and booked three nights at the Chiang Mai Plaza, just a hundred mt away. It' an amazing hotel.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere.
