We stayed 1 night but will be back for more.
Great location, night market, restaurant and sightseeing.
Great Service and friendly staff.
Great double bed and 3 single beds rooms.
Great breakfast
This hotel is waking distance to grea restaurant, night market and beautiful temple just across the road. If you appriciate the Lanna Style of living. This hotel will most likely give you a taste of Chiang Mai culture.

Room Tip: If you are looking for the Lanna Style accomodation, This is it. Very reasonable price for excellen...

Loved this hotel. Beautifully decorated. Large rooms and large bathroom. Only 12 rooms so very special service. Staff were lovely. Only breaky served but that was fine as great restaurants just down the road. 5 minute walk to night markets, massage centre and restaurants and shops. Better than the old city. Pretty street across the road from some very expensive hotels. Won't go wrong if you book this hotel.
One of my favourite in Thailand .

After spending a few days in Bangkok it was a good feeling to walk in past the large doors and see a simple beautiful oasis. The feeling was even better after we jumped in for a quick swim - the view of the buildings from the pool is a special one. While the property is small it doesn't need to be any bigger - it is a B&B and it does both bits perfectly.

The buildings are only a few years old but they have been built in a traditional style a feel "right". The rooms were the most beautiful, spacious and clean of all the rooms we saw during 3 weeks in Thailand and Laos (& the air conditioning was the best we encountered which is always good!). The relatively small number of rooms means and the design layout means you don't feel crowded and every room overlooks the pool.

Breakfast is taken next to the pool or overlooking the pool and they cook your food to order (which is a pleasant change from some larger places). The staff were the best combination we had is Thailand as far as being both delightfully friendly and highly professional.

Our stay was just for a single night before heading off on a 4 day bicycle ride to Chiang Rai (with Spice Roads - very, very good) and we enjoyed our stay at Amata Lanna so much that we returned 1-2 weeks later for a few more days rather than head to Sthn Thailand!! Also, after enjoying our cycling and also cycling in Luang Prabang, when we returned to Chiang Mai we hired bikes for two days and we found it a brilliant way to get around the city. The hostess at Amata Lanna recommended a place nearby and it worked brilliantly.
(note: I am always wary of the "single review" reviewer as they look suspicious and after staying here I would totally ignore the recent reviewer complaining of bedbugs.)

The Amata Lanna really is a beautiful little oasis in Chiang Mai City. The 12 rooms are situated on 2 levels around a central area containing the pool, garden and reception. The complex is encompassed within an old brick wall with a nice gatehouse entrance. The wall manages to keeps the noise out whilst retaining the tranquility that's created within.

The guest rooms are of a good size and decorated to a high standard. The 4 poster bed is large and comfortable and the couch and coffee table allow you to laze in front of the TV in comfort. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room also.

The bathroom is big and quite luxurious and contains a large jacuzzi bath and a separate shower box. Complimentary toiletries are provided.

Breakfast is plentiful and tasty and was taken around the pool. The home made muesli, yoghurt and fruit was a lovely healthy option and the cooked foods were good as well. The service along with the poolside setting made for a really pleasant way in which to start each day.

Everywhere you look at Amata Lanna you will see interesting design features and you'll also receive attentive service from staff for whom no request was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place for visitors to Chiang Mai and my only regret is that I wasn't able to enjoy its ample charms for longer.

We stayed with two other couples at the Amata Lanna in February, 2012 for 3 nights. It was delightful. We booked 3 rooms, all of them decorated beautifully. My husband and I stayed in #108 and couldn't have been more pleased with both the decor and the cleanliness. Breakfast by the pool was delicious and the staff was amazingly helpful. They even took my husband, by the hotel motorcycle, to the local store for a late night chocolate run! For us, Chaing Mai was ok...but we'd go back just to stay at this wonderful hotel.

This is indeed a beautiful hotel with private garden and lovely architecture but BEWARE. My wife and I now have bedbugs in our clothes. the rooms appear clean until you look closer under the bed and dresser or in corners. When we took a filthy towel to the desk after looking under the bed for lost articles upon checkout, no manager, no speak English. Probably going to throw everything away when we get home so our house will not be infested. BEWARE!

Room Tip: Avoid room 108 or stay elsewhere
