“We felt lucky to be here”
Reviewed 28 July 2011

When we looked at the reviews other people had written about Rimping Village we thought that they we overstating how nice it was. They weren't-- this place is wonderful! From the moment we arrived we felt lucky to be there. The staff was so friendly and helpful that we
felt like they were family. The morning breakfasts were delicious and the dining area right beside the pool was lovely. Our room was large with comfortable beds and a sitting area. The bathroom was unexpectedly nice with both a large shower and separate tub. The location was great-- we felt like we were far away from the bustle of the city but it was less than a ten minute walk to town. If we're ever back in Chiang Mai we will definitely stay at Rimping Village again. We had a perfect stay there.

Strongly recommend this hotel. Service is excellent, prices very reasonable at 3000 THB per night incl B&B or less depending on season and negotiating. Location is great with 10 min walk to night market area and many restaurants. Pool is very nice and quiet. Rooms are quite spacious and clean, with good spacing and good sound proofing.
Service is the highlight. Very friendly, good impartial advice and always attentive to client needs. Well done to the whole team.
The restaurant is actually very well priced and very good food. Breakfast is good with eggs/pancakes on demand and complimentary. Could do with abit more variety but that's being very picky

Pros: location, quietness, pool, service, room space, price, food and people
Cons: hot water in the room was abit dodgy as in never easy to regulate, pressure too low and provided by a small elec boiler, but minor really given the rest.

Would recommend without hesitation, especially as alternatives we visited were smelly, pricey or noisy. Top marks for famillies and couples or even single travellers (as it is in safe area and away from the crowds...)

Room Tip: probably best in the older part funnily enough as new rooms are smaller for some reason and abit mus...

This hotel is set near the river which you cross over to get to the night market area - so a good location to explore Chiang-Mai. I would describe this as a middle of the road hotel, pool to relax, play and cool down in and by, good breakfast, good rooms. What makes this special is the staff! We found them so friendly and helpful in such a nice way that is so Thai.

To top it off when they found out it was our little boy's 1st birthday a cake was there when we got back!

Our family of five just finished a five week tour of Thailand and Cambodia and Rimping Village was one of our highlights. What made it outstanding was the attitude of the staff. They all look so young, like they are a bunch of college kids who are doing this for fun. Their English is very good and they are willing to help out with recommendations for restaurants, massage, whatever. The rooms are great and the location is fantastic. We highly recommend Rimping Village and if we make it back to Chiang Mai we will definitely stay there again!

A wonderful place to stay.

It's only 5 mins walk to the night markets in Chiang Mai yet away from the hustle and bustle of the people. The staff are great and always ready to help. The "Deluxe" room had plenty of space with a little deck onto the garden, plus a fantastic bath to relax in after walking all day. As always the bed was a bit hard but that's the norm and you get used to it anyway.

The pool has a few inflatable kids items for the littlies and an area that is shallow compared to the rest of the pool. And there's a huge, very old tree to have breakfast under if you wish.

Order the hotel's Mercedes van with leather upholstery to pick you up from the airport - it's a luxurious way to get there and just what you need if you've travelled a distance.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms are much bigger with their own private decks looking onto the garden - upgrade to o...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of five nights at the Rimping Village. The service was outstanding- I'd go as far as saying possibly the best I have experienced in any hotel. The complimentary pick-up /drop-off to/from the airport was an added bonus.
In terms of value for money this hotel can not be faulted.
Chiang Mai is a fantastic small city and well worth a visit.

What can i say: it was fantastic. Wish we had more time to spend in Chiang Mai. Staff were very, very helpful and nice. The property was clean and beautiful. We only had problems with mosquitos, but that can't be helped in the North - just make sure you have your malaria pills and mosquito spray :)
