Nice small hotel, minutes form the night bazaar which I found frankly to be overrated. Been there done that, maybe that's why. Very friendly staff, happy to help.
Small place, so has a boutique charm with a small restaurant and its own pool. They have outsourced locations for massages, and will gladly arrange a taxi.
Staff went out of their way to help us plan our day's outings. The small restaurant had a pleasant feel around it with attentive staff. Breakfast was adequate - but then I'm no longer the big eater I used to be!

I'd highly recommend everybody the Rimping Village during your stay in Chang Mai.
The rooms are very comfortable, clean and cosy. There's a nice swimming pool right in front of the outside restaurant surrounded by a lot of green (you won't feel you're actually in the city center!). At the outside restaurant right under a big tree you'll have your incredible delicious breakfast served by Rimping's lovely staff ( '' Do you want your egg boiled for tree and half minutes , like yesterday Sir?'').. The staff at the reception is good as well and helped my little sisters to choose every night another nice movie to watch after their fantastic walks at the nightmarket. The nightmarket and everything else is all very close to the hotel, just across the bridge and you'll be in the heart of the city. (the market is really gooood!!)
Go for Rimping!

Beautiful hotel. Big rooms, very clean. Very close to the night market and other shopping areas. Close to the river. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast, especially the omlettes and mango with sticky rice.

We chose this hotel because of its good reputation, and now I have to say that the comments are really useful! The staff are extremely friendly and nice and funny! Even the ones who did the room cleaning for us were always smiling, a real smile. It is not a big or luxurious hotel but it is definitely the best hotel I have ever been to. The swimming pool is not big but it's big enough for us as there were not many people. The breakfast was wonderful and I love the milk bread in particular. It was sooooooo relaxing to eat there as there is a BIG tree outside so it's not too hot even when there's no AC. We saw a squirrel family living on the tree! It was our first stay in Thailand and we had no idea where to visit and how to get there. Yet our trip was wonderful because of their assistance and suggestions. The staff has perfect arrangements for us, including transportation, and they would give us the duration and associated costs in advance. Of course their arrangements were free of charge. It was such a pleasant stay and I will surely stay in the same hotel if I go to Chaing Mai again.

After staying at Rimping Village for four nights, we are no longer surprised why the hotel is consistently ranked as one of the best in Chiang Mai. In terms of location, the hotel is conveniently located on the other side of the Ping River. It is the quiet part of the town, but most places of interest are within walking distance / short tuk-tuk ride away. Several restaurants, bars and a supermarket is only minutes away from the hotel. In our room, we found all the amenities one could possibly imagine: hairdryer, umbrellas, fabric slippers, safe. We find the staff attentive, caring and always go the extra mile to satisfy our needs. For example, we had a early flight but they still kept three people on duty at 3:00 in the morning. We were even provided a complimentary breakfast box, the sandwiches tasted really delicious. All in all, this has been a most pleasant stay and we will definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: For better view and greater privacy, choose the rooms on the first floor.

A very comfortable little lodge on the fringe of Chaing Mai center. A short walk to the River Ping, the night market, great restaurants, shopping and site seeing. The hotel staff are very friendly and most helpful. The restaurant is very good and the complimentary breakfasts are hearty and delicious. All the good reviews we read are true. This is great little hotel for the value.
