We stayed here for three nights and each was perfect. This is not understated,"EVERYONE!" is extremely courteous and wants your stay to be pleasurable. The desk receptionists warmly greeted us, the kitchen staff presented delicious foods, and my daughter never wanted to leave the pool area. The deluxe room is spacious and very comfortable. The grounds and the room are clean and neatly kept. I would return tomorrow if possible. Your family will enjoy the 5 star hospitality and you will find the RimPing and great value.
Thank you, Rimping staff,
The Strauch's

Rimping Village was the first hotel we stayed in for our three week holiday to Thailand, Laos and Cambodia and if this standard hotel was to be standard throughout we were in for a great holiday hotel wise. Sadly this was not to be the case but it was a great start.
We were picked up at the airport by the hotel Mercedes van/limo. Beautiful interior to the van which made the 20 minutes or so trip very enjoyable. The reception staff were attentive and efficient and delivered our cases to the room promptly. After a long trip it was appreciated.
We had a room on the first level overlooking the pool, I don't know about the other rooms but to me we had, for a change, an "A" level room. The bed was firm like all Asian beds but the pillow was soft in the room they provided complimentary water, fruit, tea and coffee. The room also had a safe, kettle, robes and slippers. There was a drying rack outside the door. All good!
Breakfast was one of the best I have had particularly for this level of hotel. The eggs were cooked perfectly and there was a good selection of both Western and Asian dishes including Tom Ka. The hotel is close to the night market which is across the iron bridge and turn left it is then about a 200 metres walk. The supermarket up the road stocked most things including beer and wine. The pool was clean and the grounds were beautiful with many flowers in bloom
All in all a good hotel and definitely worth staying in .

Room Tip: A room overlooking the pool

We loved Chiang Mai, and the comfort and ease of Rimping Village was a big part of our reaction. Yes, as other reviews suggest, the staff is helpful, friendly, kind….it was as if they read our minds and anticipated our needs before we did ourselves. The gracious service and graceful architecture and decor felt comfortable and authentic. Close enough but not too close to the bustle of the old city.

This was our second visit and I would not stay anywhere else in Chiang Mai. The setting is charming and yet still close to everything. The staff are still just as helpful and nice. This time we were travelling with friends rather than family and they were very impressed with their stay. We had the rooms around the back away from the pool and they were really nice. Don't even bother to research anywhere else, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms 411,412 & 421(upstairs) were excellent.

Having booked this hotel on the back of all the amazing reviews, we were a little disappointed here. The staff are absolutely fantastic, but I cannot help but feel that good service props up an average hotel. The room was adequate, but not as nice as many rooms we have stayed in for a lot less money around Thailand and other parts of Asia. The swimming pool was murky and a square shape - good for children playing (of which there were lots) but not for swimming. The breakfast, like the rest of our stay, was okay, save for the friendly service by the staff. We checked out after two days because for the price, we felt we could get much better for our money. See my other reviews of Chiang Mai for the new hotel. I cannot remember what room we had but it always smelt a little damp.
Overall, it's just a shame it didn't live up to the hype of other reviews

What makes this hotel memorable for me is really the staff. They were sooo wonderful, nice and helpful. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. They also asked us what we have planned during our trip and helped us confirm all tour reservations we've made online. They're extremely helpful and accommodating with all our queries.

The hotel also doesn't disappoint. It has the wonderful charm of a boutique hotel that most highly commercialized hotels will never have - it's very homey and cozy. Bed quality was good (especially the sheets!). Location wise, it's quite a walk (around 15-20mins, depending on how fast you walk) from the shopping areas. You will need to cross the iron bridge to get to the hotel as it is surrounded by residential houses mostly. They provide toiletries, hair dryer, fruit baskets (refilled everyday), robe, umbrellas, & free bikes for roaming around. Most importantly, FREE WIFI.

Breakfast is good too with a wide spread of choices from continental to asian, and yes that includes mango sticky rice! :)

If I were to come back to Chiangmai, I will, without a doubt, stay here again!

Room Tip: If you prefer rooms with more privacy, you can choose those that are not overlooking the pool (altho...

Frankly the accommodation you pick for your holiday can make or break the whole experience. I wanted an authentic Thai experience for our week in Chiang Mai and I feel 100% that I got it. Rimping Village is fantastic, yes it has all the usual, tour booking service, mini bar, restaurant, pool, free water, wifi, huge family rooms etc. etc but it was the little things that made this place an enduring memory for me and my family. It was the fact that when we came home exhausted from a day of exploring the frenetic Chiang Mai we didn't even have to go to reception to retrieve our key, they met us with our key and asked how our day was. It was the fact that at a certain time of night a man would come around and light the incense outside each room so that we could enjoy the evenings without the bugs. It was the guy that so diligently maintained the pool and handed the pool toys back to my children when they were thrown out - for the 200th time. It was the ladies at the restaurant that knew how I wanted my eggs after a few days and just smiled each morning at me with a "Sawadee" and an "Eggs Madam". The other standouts are the beautiful Banyan tree, it is truly majestic, the huge family rooms and the proximity to ... well everything. Stop looking and book Rimping Village!
