A lot has been written about this hotel already, so I would like to add a few examples of how service oriented they really are
1. I booked train tickets for our travels back from Chiang Mai to Bangkok : The staff at Rimping Village called to booking oofice in Bangkok to ensure that the tickets would be there by the time we arrived. All of this without having to remind them...
2. The staff booked / organised quite a few activities when we were in Chiang Mai : we were told by one of the companies that the price we got was extremely good because the hotel doesn't take a commission on the booking
3. It was mosquito season when we were there : the hotel had coils and mosquito sprays everywhere for the guests to use free of charge
The list goes on...the hotel doesn't have the latest design and isn't glam, but it couldn't be more suited to its environment. It is simple, but extremely comfortable with a good decent breakfast, extremely clean bedrooms, good showers and absolutely fab staff for a very good price. The only little downside was the cleanliness of the pool, but after speaking to Wi, the hotel manager, even that was resolved on the same day...

The two best things about this hotel are the staff, and value for money (if you're not a student - there is definitely cheaper accommodation available but we paid about £20 a night each which I think is really cheap for what we got).

The hotel is situated outside of the old city, across the river, we didn't find the location a problem at all and used tuk tuks a lot to get around. However, lots of tuk tuk drivers didn't know the hotel so you have to always direct them. This was not a problem at all for our taxi driver from the airport though. The area is quiet, but as 3 girls walking back to the hotel at night we didn't feel unsafe at all.

The hotel is exceptionally clean, the room was an ok size for the 3 of us, although it's probably better for 2. The buffet breakfast was lovely, including the eggs we got every morning. The staff were the most helpful people we met on our travels, and they went above and beyond what was expected of them. They helped us book all our trips that we did whilst we were in Chiang Mai (rock climbing, flight of the gibbon, jungle trekking, tiger kingdom), and even helped us with finding local produce that we were looking for! For example, on our last day we were going to the tiger kingdom and then on to the airport, however we wanted to pick up some local honey and soya bean paste. They organised a brilliant taxi driver to take us and our suitcases to Tiger Kingdom, then on to a very good (and cheap) honey outlet centre and the supermarket. They even called the taxi driver to speak to us whilst we were out to make sure we had got all the right stuff we wanted.

All in all this was a great hotel and i would highly recommend it for groups, couples, and families.

a very nice small hotel. comfort, wide, nicely decorated family rooms, very nice salty sweeming pool. Excellent staff - very friendly and helpfull - we arrived to the hotel late at night after a very long flight - the representatives of the hotel were waiting for us at the airport with a very comfortable car. immediatly after check in, they suggested to bring us a late night supper (since the hotel's restaurant was alreadty closed) and after a few minutes they were back with our supper. Breakfast was also very good. the staff gave us very good recomendations for activities around chiang-mai and the feeling of the hotel was very cozy.

Rimping Village hotel is a small pearl in Chiang Mai. The hotel has 24 rooms and is located east of the Ping River, about 10 minutes walk from the night market area. My wife and I stayed here for three nights and found it very comfortable: quiet and clean rooms with fridge and two free bottles of drinking water each day, air conditioning, a restaurant which serves a good breakfast and diner. The salt-water pool is great for cooling down after an intensive day of activities in or around the city.
The hotel offers wifi-internet free of charge and free-to-use bicycles (for adults and kids) which are very convenient to move around in the city. Apart from this the staff provided a great service which really made us feel welcome and at home.

From the start the service at this small hotel was exemplary. The reception staff took a genuine, caring interest in making our holiday the best they could. The room was large and clean although a bit dated. Pool area was well maintained but pool was a bit of an occupational hazard to get into as it had no steps. This really does need to be fixed as we personally witnessed someone slipping as they tried to get in. Breakfast was lovely but we had only one evening meal in the hotel, and that was very average.Reception staff were quite upset to hear this and immediately credited us with the meal. Location was fine and quiet. It's just a short walk to the night markets. Also, there is a very good, cheap laundry service a short distance away, just go to the right from the hotel and follow that path. Chang Mai itself was a delightful find. Although it's not probably not quite 3 star ( I would describe it as having a rustic charm) we would definitely stay at the Rimping Village again.

The service at this hotel really does need to be experienced to be believed. I’ve been lucky enough to have stayed in some of the finest hotels in the world and each one could learn something from Rimping Village where personal service is taken to the next level. Aside from the service the rooms are comfortable and the hotel is a short enjoyable walk from the town. The small restaurant serves good food & drinks. I wouldn’t hesitate to book a return trip here.

The rimping village hotel is a gem in chiang mai. It is located outisde the bustle of the town centre, but only ten mins walk away. The staff are very friendly and always ready to arrange trips and provide advice. The pool and bar area is very relaxing if you want a down day. This hotel will organise trips to cooking schools, tiger kingdom and all the other adventures waiting for you in Chiang mai.
