My wife and I arrived at Chiang Mai International Airport on 6th Nov 2013. We bought a taxi coupon from the taxi counter at 120Baht to go to Bodhi Serene Hotel in the old city where we stayed for two nights. The hotel staff at the reception desk was polite and helpful. Our room was at the far end but we could not ask to change for another room as the hotel was fully booked. We noticed that a lot of timber was used for the building structures and the floor for the room was of timer too. The bed room was big as well as the bathroom. However, the shower's water pressure was a let down and the tiles of the shower enclosure were not cleaned and had black stains. Breakfast was a simple buffet but adequate for us. For the two nights stay, we found that it was quiet and we had good sleep. There were some massage parlours on the same road. For the first night , we had our dinner at Ginny's Cafe which was just next door. The food was good and cheap. The cafe owner is a lady who also sell day tours at good prices e.g. the group day tour to Golden Triangle was quoted to us at 800Baht per person which was the lowest price one could get. For the second night , we ate at Dash! Restaurant and Bar which was not far at the back of the hotel. A small winding lane at the back leads to Moon Muang Soi 2 where the restaurant is. The food was very good and prices were reasonable, in fact cheap. The style is not quite like the normal Thai and it has its own fatastic sauces.
Overall we were happy to stay here but the price was comparatively on the high side during the peak season starting 1st Nov.

Located on a quieter street inside the Old city of Chiang Mai, this hotel is a very well maintained and lovely property. Recommended.

What we like:
1) Location - it's convenient, and close to everything, yet, just far enough from the busier streets in Chiang Mai.
2) Service - Fuss free and excellent service by the front desk during the check in and check out process. I can't ask for more.
3) Rooms - Large room (ours was on the ground floor) with dark décor featuring lots of wood. Every convenience is provided, so I can't say anything at all is lacking.
4) Bath - Big - there's even a Jacuzzi, which we didn't get to use. Clean, although there was a little bit of unpleasant smell from the sewers (common hazard when you're on the ground floor)
5) Other things we like includes the free internet (not always fast, but acceptable), good breakfast with a moderate spread including egg station, waffles, bread, Asian selection, fruits, and juices.

What we think can improve:
1) Mosquito control - upon entering our room, we had at least 6-7 mosquitos to deal with, which wasn't very pleasant at all.

Other note:
* Bicycle is available for rental, but is pricier compared to the street price.
* Free shuttle to Night Market available on weekdays. On weekends, you will probably not visit the night market due to the walking street markets around the Old City, all within easy walking distance.

First of all, the staff are friendly And helpful
Secondly the rooms are spacious, wood floors (= clean) and the bathroom really large with good working plumbing.
Good quality cotton sheets, slippers and robes . All nice touches
It is very good value
We just arrived so cannot comment on food, yet

Room Tip: Room 127 upper floor is reasonably quiet and better than lower level re Mosquitos if u r overly sensitive (which we are)

We stayed there for three nights and thouroughly enjoyed every minute we got to rest at the hotel. Staff was very friendly and happy to help. The breakfast was very good but the room and location are the reasons I will go back. The interiors are well finished and the large tub giving onto the bedroom was very relaxing.

Chiang Mai is a small charming city and Bodhi Serene is located in its heart. Even with this great location, the rooms and the grounds are very quiet and ideal to relax in.

Well located in the Old City. Quite ambiance with lovely cool salt water infinity pool to relax. Large rooms, relaxing outlook over large water feature. Excellent bathroom with separate shower and large circular bath. AC quite and fully adjustable, can leave on to sleep. Good breakfast in nice setting. Dining room located next to pool and meals are adequate for the easy option night. Great fruit shakes in the dining room or by the pool. We highly recommended the hotel. The only negatives (and the reason for not giving a maximum score) during our stay were the poor quality of the bath towels and the need for management to provide additional staff for cleaning due to the large bathrooms.

Room Tip: Select rooms greater than xx3 to ensure you don't overlook the staircase of breakfast area
