We discovered Bodhi Serene hotel accidentally, as not the travellers to go for the hotel hidden behind an ostentatious wall in the middle of the (old) city. Nevertheless we were risking not finding a room for the evening and so gave it a go. Once inside, we were in for a very pleasant surprise.
Bodhi Serene has got a great deal of good taste (as most of the pictures here show it), reasonable prices (higher than average, however once in your room, around the pool or in the inner garden you soon understand why), good service and a great level of comfort in a town otherwise a bit ‘infrastructurally challenged’.
The staff were very welcoming and overall very courteous, even though maybe could say a bit inexperienced. We had an unpleasant surprise with one of the guest’s child throwing our flip flops off the corridor balcony (which we had innocently left outside our room) and weren’t met with much initiative to investigate the mysterious disappearance, until we spotted the CCTV camera and asked for a check.
Didn’t check the restaurant as were a bit thrown by the fact that it was nearly empty, however the breakfast was very good!
Overall enjoyed our stay and would have stayed extra had all the rooms not been booked for the second night.More
