The moment I arrive at the hotel door steps, I was greeted by the bell hop and front desk staff. The whole check-in took only 10 minutes and we walk lead to our room 214 for our next 3 nights stay before we drive up to Chiangrai and Mae Sai. The hotel provide free shuttle to the night market daily. There is also the Saturday walking street, which I find it not far. Within 15mins walking distance. Cross opposite the street and walk along the alley. Then you will come to the ancient gate. Cross over and there you will find the entrance to the walking street. On Sunday, there is another night market within 5 min walk from our hotel. We joined the rice planting excursion and bike tour. Both tours were great and kids enjoy it. Hotel is in the ancient city and it pretty quiet in the evening. There is a swimming pool on level 2. I will return to this hotel next year December 2014.

We choose the Bodhi Serene based on others reviews and were not disappointed at all. Would certainly book in again on our next trip to Chiang Mai. A perfect boutique hotel. Room, pool, dinner and breakfast were all of a high standard.

The location of this hotel is very good - close to most of the major sights (we could reach Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Chiang Man etc on foot) and also quite near to the night bazaar. If you do not want to walk to the night bazaar, the hotel does offer a daily shuttle service (one-way) at 7 pm. The service staff were excellent, they were always ready to greet the guests with a polite smile.

We chose the executive room - it was large, very comfortable. We liked the huge bathtub and the balcony too. Our room came with free daily breakfast, wifi and 2-way airport-transfers. We had made the booking directly with the hotel reservation website, taking advantage of their low-season special promotion package. Upon check-in, the hotel also offered us a complimentary afternoon tea for 2.

Recently my wife and I stayed at the Bodhi Serene for the second time. We were very satisfied first time around so we had no hesitation in staying here again. I was impressed by the fact that the hotel staff remembered us from our last visit and they extended the same level of hospitality and courtesy to us. The reception staff were particularly helpful and catered for our every need. The Bodhi Serene is a beautiful hotel in a great location close to many fine eateries in old Chiang Mai city. The rooms on the upstairs level are very spacious and include a high standard of linen and toiletries, separate shower, good water pressure and personal room balconies overlooking a lovely internal courtyard with a kind of moated garden. The upper level also features a restaurant, swimming pool, relaxation area and a library room with full computer access. The library is a great source of information for Thai culture and history. Our breakfast was also up to the usual good standard with omelettes and fresh fruit etc. served on the perimeter of the courtyard. The Bodhi Serene is a wonderful oasis in bustling Chiang Mai and very good value for money. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to all discerning travellers.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room close to the pool.

This is a lovely hotel within walking distance to several temples and the night market. We stayed there for three nights and were very pleased with the experience. The breakfast was great and we particularly liked the big shower and bathtub. We will definitely stay there again if we go back to Chiang Mai.
We needed to get laundry done and went to the place next door. We dropped it off in the morning and it was done that same evening.
The staff was very helpful. We can't think of one single negative thing.

We recently stayed as a family (2 adults + 2 children) at The Bodhi Serene Hotel. We had the family suite which is a 2 bedroom suite + kitchen, lounge, dining area - it was enormous, one of the biggest family rooms I have ever stayed in. Needless to say we were very comfortable! The hotel is in a great location in the old city- walking distance to plenty of temples, restaurants, massage, supermarkets. The hotel facilities are excellent- beautiful pool, good breakfast, free Wi-Fi everywhere and use of 2 computers in the common library, free transfers to and from the airport and very friendly staff. I cant think of a single negative. If we ever go back to Chiang Mai I would definitely stay here again.
