Perfect in every way, especially for couples..

beautiful place, beautiful staff, lovely food and amazing rooms.

we had an amazing stay and would recommend to any one... staff can not do enough for you

only negative which has nothing todo with the hotel: at night some cabs refuse or try to charge you more from the main square as its slightly out of the way from other hotels but thats just another reason why we loved it..

love charlotte and nax xxx

Room Tip: just book it

We stayed at the Ruen Come In for 3 nights while in Chiang Mai and it was a perfect little retreat accessible to all of the sites. The service throughout our stay was great, our room was beautiful and very clean, and the whole place was very peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast here was definitely a highlight for us and we did eat dinner at the restaurant one night and would highly recommend everyone who stays here is sure to eat a dinner here. Mrs. Mai was very helpful and happy to drive us wherever we wanted to go at night (for a reasonable fee). We also used the bikes (also reasonable fee) the hotel makes available to go into the Old City which was really fun. We would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet sanctuary during your time in Chiang Mai.

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon at the end of February. It was a beautiful resort, small, but very well maintained. Staff was very accommodating, wish we could have stayed longer. Huge rooms. We did the Thai cooking class which was really fun. If you have the time I would suggest you give it a try.

This review is quite delayed, but Ruen Come In is so fantastic I figured better late than never! We stayed here in November 2012. My husband was really disliking Thailand because we spent too long in Bangkok, which is a very large, not very nice city. Chiang Mai redeemed our entire opinion of Thailand. It is such a special, lovely town with such friendly people. Really couldn't be more different from Bangkok. Add to that the oasis that is Ruen Come In and we were delighted. We ate several meals here because the cooking is just so good! The cooking class is a must do - particularly the tour of the market, which gave us insight into the food and the culture. The tours that were arranged for us into the mountains were also wonderful - I highly recommend them! And then the actual hotel - our room was like a dream, the pool was divine, and the house itself was fascinating. And yes, it is a bit out of town, but don't let that put you off. We cycled around (and got lost) but taxis are plentiful and cheap. Just make sure you have the address and their phone number - the taxis we took called the hotel for directions. If ever we're back in Chiang Mai, we'll head straight to Ruen Come In!

We booked this on the web for 3 nights and were reasonably happy with everything. The staff are so friendly and accommodating we felt welcome from the start. Just one thing to watch out for, the mosquitos are ferocious! Make sure you take plenty of repellent and use the the net over the bed.
The best thing about Ruen is the food in the restaurant. The breakfast is only ok, (really bad coffee!) but the night menu is unbelievable. We were staying in Chiang Mai for 2 weeks so we found another place for one tenth of the cost that is great, so I have to say the Ruen is expensive by Thai standards.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel with friends. It really is all that people say in their reviews. The hotel itself feels like a home the instant you arrive. It is beautiful set of buildings made of teak, the rooms are all different and interesting, and there are plenty of seating areas each with a character of their own. Also you very quickly feel like one of the family as the staff are so pleasant and are very concerned to look after you. Mai often offers the driver to take you to places and the cookery class with her was one of the main highlights of the whole visit to Thailand. This felt like a real Thai experience. I would go back again if I ever has the opportunity. A really lovely place, why would any one not want to stay here given the chance.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw were lovely so I don't think this matters.

My husband and I stayed here three nights and were delighted with the quality, value and hospitality we found with Mrs. Mai and her staff, especially dear Kate. We were treated like royalty from the beginning to the end of our stay. It was a challenge for the red taxi truck to find on our arrival (we came in by train) and I wished I had arranged for a ride with the hotel ahead of time. But once we arrived, we're were amazed at the beauty of the place and its peaceful setting. The breakfasts (and home cooking in the restaurant) were delicious and healthful, much of it grown on site. It is a little out of the way in a quiet residential area, but we considered this a huge plus, getting away from the chaos and noise near the old city. A tuk tuk ride was just 150 Baht one way and a red taxi truck will be even less, just be sure to take a map with you from the front desk to show your driver. We found this very helpful. Would go back in a heartbeat!
