We came across this place one Sunday evening. First lets start on the positives. It is a pleasant restaurant, nicely laid out and plays gentle nice music in the background. It consists of appoximately 18 tables and on this evening 15 of them including ours was occupied. We ordered a shared starter which arrived after about 10 minutes, no complaint so far. This consisted of two spring rolls, two satay sticks and what resembled two chicken nuggets. Sparse but ok. We ordered as our main course duck in a red curry sauce and my wife had chicken noodles. Not a gourmet challenge one would think. Other reviewers have said service is not that quick. Having worked in restaurants I am aware of time constraints but to keep customers waiting for an hour between finishing the starters and getting their main course is unacceptable. Sure this is Thailand, we were not in a hurry, just hungry!!! It was not until I said that I was leaving that the mains appeared. Paying the bill the manager/cook apologised saying it was busy, he should try working in a London restaurant if he considers 15 tables busy. It would also have helped if he had stayed in the kitchen as we saw him serving drinks and food at the tables. After all of this the food was average , certainly Johns Garden, around the corner is vastly superior in quality and professionalism. It costs more but goes to prove you get what you pay for. Suffice to say we will not be returning.
