We loved our relaxing few days in the villa, it was very spacious and open with a fantastic view from the pool and the bedrooms. Being in the hills and surrounded by nature it was very quiet and secluded. It was very handy having the hire car and we drove around the island. It made us appreciate our quieter side of Samui - which included some great restaurants nearby.
My partner and I really enjoyed our relaxed stay at Villa Elysian, located in a quiet and less touristy part of Koh Samui. The villa staff were very nice to us, and made our stay most enjoyable. The large villa pool with sweeping jungle and sea views helped, too!
Excellent Thai restaurants are located nearby, our favourites included 'Starry Seafood', 'KOH Thai Kitchen' (inside Four Seasons), and 'Takho Bangpo Seafood'. Further afield, we enjoyed luncheons at 'Khao Horm' (near airport), 'Sabienglae Krua 2' (Bophut Beach), 'Khrua Chao Ban' (just south of Lamai Beach, and the original 'Sabienglae' restaurant, also highly recommended); and by far the best fine dining experience on the island, we enjoyed our dinner experience at 'Pak Tai' (inside Ritz-Carlton). We liked to bring our own wines to the more local restaurants listed above. The best wine shops near the villa, are 'Sanphet' (Nathon), and 'Bangrak Minimart' (across from Big Buddha Pier). A Thai friend of ours in Bangkok, helped us order more unusual and organic wines one cannot find on Koh Samui, from a Bangkok wine agency called 'Wine Garage Co.' (we ordered a few cases, and they delivered to Villa Elysian, no problem!).
Lastly, we recommend having lunch, and ordering takeaway (for dinner) before going back to the villa. The villa staff will cook Thai rice in the evening, reheat and serve your takeaway dishes for your dinner to enjoy in-house. Staff also take care of all the dishes, another added plus! We liked this routine, rather than going out again at night.
Three generations of my family stayed for ten days over Easter. There was plenty of room for all of us and the villa was well laid out. We had a lovely relaxing stay, spending most of it in the pool as it was very warm. The pool is lovely and the view from the villa is stunning. We thought that we would do a lot of sightseeing but the villa was so lovely, that we just ended up relaxing there for most of the time. Then sunsets from the villa and beach were amazing.
I've not stayed on this side of the island before and its lovely and unspoilt; much more relaxing than on the East Coast or in Phuket. We walked down to the village a few times and had dinner in the lovely pizza place and a few of the Thai places. The coffee shop opposite Family Mart does surprisingly good coffees.
Ann and Bom, the villa staff could not be more helpful. They made us breakfast, tidied up afterwards, loved chatting to our children and were very discreet. I'd definitely recommend it for families of all ages.
The on-site staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. They also keep the place top notch tidy and clean. It's so relaxing here - swimming in the beautiful pool, views down the hillside and out onto the water, and the wonderful sounds of nature that surround the place.
We recently had our honeymoon in Koh Samui and decided to stay at Villa Elysian for the second time as we loved it so much the last time we stayed.
On arrival we were greeted by Bom and Ann (the live in staff) with a lovely cocktail. They showed us around the villa and in our room they had arranged a gorgeous Honeymoon welcome of rose petals and Thai flowers. This was such a lovely surprise as last time the staff weren't there.
The staff are more than happy to help you with small errands including helping with shopping or meals etc. At the same they will leave you to your own devices throughout your stay so you can enjoy the villa in privacy as you please.
The only reason i take off a star in this rating is because you do need to hire a car if you stay at the villa but for around $25 a day it is completely affordable.
We LOVE Villa Elysian and cannot wait to get back next year, if not earlier.

Stayed in this beautiful villa for a week in March 2016.
The villa is in Ang Thong near Nathon - located 1km up hill. (Car is essential.)
Absolutely beautiful, tranquil location.
With amazing sea views.
It is a very private location, exactly what we wanted.
Well equipped. With lovely helpful live in staff (Ang and Bomb).
The infinity swimming pool and the out door seating area is where we spent most of our day time in the villa during the day.
The children had a fantastic time.
Many nice local restaurants in Ang Thong, Mae Naem and Nathon.
Tesco lotus near by.
We visited Lipa Noi beach several times during our stay, a short drive away
Very Helpful management. Escorted us from the airport to the villa. Sent us a shopping list prior to arrivals and had our essentials ready for us.
Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a peaceful stay in Koh Samui.
We spent Christmas and the new year with our family in the villa and extended our stay twice thereafter with my wife. The villa is really nice, it sits in the jungle on a hill, the views are magnificent, you can see the turquoise colour of the sea which is just 1 kilometer away with the coconut trees surrounding the house. It is very quiet with only 2 or 3 neighbouring houses. The terrace around the pool is where one spends most of the time, the house itself is very pleasant, the vast bedrooms with balconies overlooking the sea are great, equipment is modern and functionning. The pool, garden attendance and maid service function well with very nice people in charge.
You need a car but it is pleasant to have one as you can explore the island which is full of surprises and big enough to offer hundreds of options.
We had a really good stay and hope to be abble to come back.
