“Disappointing for what you have to pay...”

Choose this because it looked nice (lovely old style building), we wanted to treat ourselves to a nice relaxing time. Since we wanted to treat ourselves we were willing to pay a lot more for the whole experience, knowing a massage at one of the local places cost a fraction of what it would cost here but that didn't matter, we thought this would be worth the money.... but this was unfortunately not the case;

Although a friendly reception the other staff seemed totally unprepared for visitors, nothing was ready. Got towels 'to shower' they said but couldn't find a shower anywhere? strange :). Some explanation would have been handy. One member of staff that was there to help us disappeared for a quite a while leaving us waiting, later we discovered she was looking for the bowls with water to wash our feet in, although they/she already had over 10 min to get it while we were getting changed. No other costumers around there so why??? Just annoying and not professional. Garden a bit messy, noisy radio of staff on the background.

Massage was OK but what was a real let down is the staff apparently got bored doing the massage so they started chatting to each other, bye bye relaxing atmosphere! Work schedules and lunch (they didn't eat jet, nice to know!) were all discussed by the ladies... For 1800 Bath p.p. a little bit of a more professional attitude would be nice!

Got bitten 4 times by mosquito's while being massaged and at some point the sun came though and we were in the heath...

Would this have been a table on the beach for a 300 Bath/hour massage fine but not for this money, very disappointing. All little things added, no this was not a nice relaxing experience and I wouldn't go there again.

The Sunset Beach Resort and Spa, former Ban Sabai Resort and Spa offered a fabulous Valentine's special which started the first of February lasting the whole February. We had our Spa experience the 8th of February lasting 2 1/2 hours as a couple.
The ladies picked us up in the reception bringing us down the resort stair case to the pool and recreation area and to the Spa Suites. In a small dressing room we got our bath robes and the special Spa one time dresses. After dressing we were brought to the main room, where two Spa bed's where already prepared. We were placed into two big chairs where we were welcome with a herbal foot washing ceremony and a herbal tea. Also two cold towels were reached. After that we could enjoy a chocolate body scrub of 30 minutes each, than we took a shower and cleaned our bodies before we got a 75 minutes body oil massage. We had the possibility to choose our own oil out of 5 different choices. I took Eucalyptus Oil, my partner Jasmine Flower. After the body massage we both had a chocolate facial treatment of another 45 minutes.
At the end of the treatment we got a fruit cocktail and a chocolate brownie. Our chocolate Valentine Spa experience was really a fabulous one!
It was the perfect way of relaxation and we were pleased with the very fair price of only 4100 Baht together. As it is usual to tip of the therapist, we also gave an additional tip for each of the ladies.
All in all we can only recommend this Spa. Compared with the big Spa's in the big 5 Star hotels, the therapists are as good as those in the big Spa's if not even better. The atmosphere is great and the area perfectly clean. The music in the background is not too loud and is giving the perfect way of relaxation. There is not other possibility than a 5 points rating.
