The mummified monk. Well for 119 years old (the last 40 years of which he was deceased) Phra Khru Samathakittikhun (Dang Piyasilo) looks amazingly well.
He is included on many tours and there's often a live monk present to bless you. Worth seeing.

We stopped off whilst touring the island and visited the monk! He hadn't aged in 17 years since we last visited him on our honeymoon but had just moved premises! We went to pay our respects and a (live) monk was giving out blessings next to him. We felt very cleansed and spiritual by the time that we left. A great stop off area when touring the island to recharge your batteries!

We drive here on our own tour around the island on a little rented scooter.

Obviously an unusual thing to see and I sat and got blessed by a monk and he let me get a picture with him which was nice.

The mummified monk is a little creepy lookin an strange with his sunglasses on but it's off a main road so the trip can be apart of going somewhere else ad is worth stopping off.

The only thing I hated, and it's the same for all the temples. It's when two safari trucks turn up packed full of loud tourists with their music blaring. These are temples and should be respected properly.

Great to stop at, if you are enroute to other island areas, as you will only need about 20 minutes here. Worth a stop though to see the mummified monk, very creepy! But fascinating.

the temple was one of our coach stops for 10mins and that's all you need, the preserved monk had sunglasses on which made for a good photo. you could get blessed by a monk and there was a box full of different fortunes and you could take it with you which i thought was nice. the little temple beside the monk makes for nice photos.
