Such a wonderful experience staying here. We intended to stay for 2 nights but stayed for 5 and was very sad to leave. Hom and Angus treat you like part of the family. Such a warm welcoming environment where nothing is too much trouble. Lovely clean rooms. Peaceful and relaxing with lovely views. Hom and Angus do everything they can to ensure you enjoy your stay. Located in the beautiful hills overlooking Lamai, complimentary lifts into town are provided. Food here is good too with lovely Thai dishes or more western options if you are not feeling adventurous. Excellent value a true Thai gem. Not to be missed.

We really enjoyed staying here as we felt it was a place to relax, which we were able to do so. The pool is lovely, the restaurant has nice food with a mixture of thai and western food. Angus was very welcoming and give us lots of advice on trips and where to go. Angus provided a free shuttle to the beach, and gives you a phone to ring when you want to be picked up, Angus and his wife do this shuttle themselves and at times it feels like a burden to ask for a lift/to be picked up but it is a service they offer and it is a great service as taxis to Lamai beach cost 250-300 baht one way. Sometimes we felt it would be better if they offered specific times to go to the beach and also to return as they could be going from and to all day. There isn't much within walking distance of samui reef view Resort which is probably the downside as we usually like to walk to a shop at least, but is a perfect place if you want somewhere away from it all.

Room was near the road so could be noisy, however was a large clean room with wifi and a/c. It also had a DVD player and the owners offered hundreds of DVDs to borrow!! Which is great as their restaurant and bar shut at 8:30pm.

Room tip: Try get a pool room - quieter

Stayed 3 nights here. Booked them through hostelbookers.com after reading their good reviews. As I stayed for 3 nights, I was given complementary transfer from and to airport by Hom. Room 8 is clean, has hot water shower ,a refrigerator, TV and air conditioned. They also provide complementary transport to and from Lamai beach. Not bad for the price I paid. Hotel has a swimming pool and also their own restaurant. Had my meals there a few times and meals are good and reasonable in price. They also booked my scooter. Angus gave me a free Koh Samui map and told me where to visit. Their wifi connection is very good and no problem connecting to the internet from my room. Would strongly recommend to stay here.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed 4 nights at Samui Reef resort. The owners are so welcoming. We were shown to our rooms immediately and felt that our stay was made very personal, rather than being just another lodger. Rooms were large, spacious and clean, with a DVD player and thousands of films to choose from. There's a pool, but we didn't use it as it was rainy. The food at the hotel restaurant is really yummy, which was good as there's nothing really in short walking distance around. The location is the only thing that wasn't perfect, although it was never a problem. Whenever you want to head to town/the beach Angus or Hom would drop you off and give you a phone to call them when you wanted picking up. They were so lovely. I'd recommend this hotel for a relaxing, friendly, reasonably priced break, slightly out of the centre. We really enjoyed our stay here.

The owner Angus will really go out of his way to help you. He would drop us down at the beach upon request and give us a mobile phone to call him when we wanted to come back. The food at the restaurant is very good and very reasonably priced. The rooms are big and clean. Great stay
