Stayed June 28th & 29th, typical Holiday Inn, could be anywhere in the world but at least you know what your getting, the only reason I stayed there was because of the discount and late checkout I needed for my flight back to.
We got back to our room to sleep at 2330 could not sleep because of the noise from the Havana Bar, which is part of the hotel, we were 8 floors up, at 0030 I called reception asking them to turn the noise down so we could sleep (I knew this was not going to happen) I was called back and told no cant turn noise down but can change rooms, I said no will change in the morning and tried to sleep, could not so called again and asked to move rooms which we did to the 12th floor on the other side of the hotel which was very quiet.
God knows why they didn't put us there in the first place I can't have been the first to complain about the noise.
I thought I may get a call from the Duty Manager of Customer Care the next morning, but nothing.
I did speak to a Manager and told him we had to move rooms in the middle of the night and to be honest I may have well as spoked to the wall, it was as if so what....
We had the same attitude over a dirty glass over breakfast, had a glass of orange juice but the glass had not been washed or not washed well, called one of the girls over who just took the glass and walked off with it, nothing, not even another offer to get a orange juice in a clean glass.
When I was checking out I checked the drawers to make sure we left nothing although we had put nothing in them, and in the one next to the bible was a opened condom packed left from the last guest. And I hope he had a good time but for me it summed up this hotel, it could be very good with a little more care and attention and maybe if the Manager spoke to his guest once in a while.
I've stayed in a lot of Thai hotels over the years and live in Thailand now, and stayed in holiday inns all over Britain while I was working and this is one of the nicest but worst run I've ever stayed in.
The Amari next door is much, much better, just wished I'd stayed there instead.
