“Great Reputation, But Not upto the mark”
Reviewed 6 May 2010

Fraser Hospitality chain has a great reputation, and based on this we booked three rooms for 2 nights In April 2010 at Fraser , pattaya.
My experience in sequential order: First the bad one----

1. We reached the Hotel Reception - were greeted by a very beautiful - non smiling, sad face, who is not interested in welcoming or helping us.
2. We booked the Studio Courtyard rooms just one day before check-in by speaking to the Sales Officer, and all rooms were to have bath tub. But to our surprise, we were only given one room with a bath tub. After trying to talk & convince them for more than 1 hour speaking to atleast 4 different people, we were given one more room with a bath tub, but it was a different category room we booked.
3. The attached bathroom is very peculiar in nature - its just a glass separating it from bedroom and is very very small. The wash basin is in the bed room...odd feeling
4. The breakfast, was really pathetic, not many items to choose from. We ordered for an egg omelette on first day during breakfast, it took them 25 minutes to serve the same, and to our surprise, it didnot look like an omelette at all. God knows what it was???
Gosh.....They donot know how to cook an omelette...
5. Overpriced room
6. Very Samll size room - bed position very odd...

Now Some Good points:
1. Great location - close to Royal Garden plaza mall, many good food joints, and 200 m from Walking Street.
2. Room Decor was a bit unconventional but very attractive.
3. Well Maintained hotel
.4. Swimming Pool was great with Jacuzzi, very nice location.
5. Great Night Market in the vicinity

So overall, we had an average experience, and were disappointed.
Hope they improve next time..

Best Tip: From BKK, take the bus to Pattaya by visiting http://www.airportpattayabus.com. There are 2 locations for pickup, Main Terminal or the Bus Depot. You can purchase tickets from each ticket booth for 124 baht/pp. From there, you can request to be dropped off in the middle of the city and take a tuk-tuk or siong-tiow to Fraser Resort. Get dropped off the main road, the street that is perpendicular to Pattaya Beach Rd or say Joe Lewis Restaurant & Puppet Show.

Fraser Resort is a great property that is upcoming and will surprise many guests at first look. My wife and I enjoyed the visit as every staff member (from the doorman to the manager) was courteous and friendly. Pim (Manager) was very helpful. Heidi (Sales Rep) was definitely top notch.

The breakfast buffet was awesome. It was filled with the necessities needed in order for a full stomach thru the "busy" day.

The lobby was modern, the pool was in an unusual location, but was a great place to hangout and people watch... no sun coming thru though...

WiFi can be bought for a nominal fee. It also has a Fitness Center and a Restaurant/Bar attached next door. The lobby has 2 iMacs for guests to enjoy and browse the internet.

The room we stayed in was on the 5th floor, Deluxe Courtyard. The bed was huge and comfortable, it had a Samsung LCD TV, iPod Stereo/Charger/Alarm Clock, Desk, Lounge Chair, and a good view of the City Walk outside. The noise wasn't bothersome at all. The bathroom had a Shower/Bathtub and was clean. The room itself was very contemporary, which fits the newer generation of travelers. It was dark, but elegantly decorated with modern colors.

The best part of the hotel is that it was centrally located. Very close to the beach, close to the beach walk, close to restaurants, stores, etc. It was also easy to get transportation. They do close down the street the Hotel falls on at 5pm for the Citywalk shops.

Do not go to The Joe Louis Restaurant across the street. Although the show was good, the food and service was terrible for a Thai-restaurant. The Food & Drinks were expensive, and definitely was not worth the price.

Fraser Resort Hotel is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Although we may not be visiting Pattaya soon, we would definitely stay at Fraser Resort again. Thanks Pim, Heidi, and all the staff at Fraser! Sawadee Krab! Khorb Khun Krab! ~ Chris

I stayed here for 2 days. It was overall comfortable and nice stay. As me and my wife shifted here from Baywalk Residency (after spending 4 days) so in comparison to Baywalk its not worth for value. Fraser is lil bit costly also and there is no free wi-fi. Interior is very good. Rooms are not that much spacious as compared to previous hotel. Location is very good. Everything is near by. Staff is friendly and they know English very well. I didn't try the breakfast over there. Room service is good enough. There are a plenty of places to try out different kinds of foods near by. From Mc'd, KFC, Pizza hut to 7-11 super market, thai restaurants also Indian restaurants, everything is near by. Over all a good hotel but slightly costly.

Great lobby with two iMacs for free use and a nice outside bar adjacent. The room was comfortable and I liked the design. The location is great, close to the action, but things immediately around the hotel get quiet at around midnight. At night there are stalls in front of the hotel and you cannot drive up to the hotel; the hotel offers valet parking and a porter service, though. The pool is a bit of a joke, but we did not really need that anyway. All in all, I thought that the hotel provided excellent value for money.
