“Service level is going down...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2011

Hotel is going downhill; please check recent reviews before committing to stay here.

This was my favourite hotel in Pattaya. Sad to see signs that it is going downhill. I think that next time I will look for alternatives.

This is my third stay in this hotel. Arrived at 2 PM and found that the room is not ready and was asked to wait until 4 PM, this was not possible since I arrived over a red-eye flights and could not hand around for 2 hours in the reception. I opted to upgrade to more expensive room since it was immediately available.

Number of staff at the reception is less, so you get less attention.

Location is still good, and rooms are still clean and quite.

As of last month, you need to pay for additional towels. I arrived in the afternoon, showered and rested. On my way out, I asked for a couple of more towels. I was told that the management decided last month to start charging for towels. The staff at the reception said that the cost per additional towel is 75 baht per day that you need the towel; the duty manager claimed it is only 50 baht per additional towel. Sounds like a scam to me, I have never heard of a hotel charging extra for a towel.

This hotel was successful and the management started another hotel close by called April Suites. It seems that the hotel is on a cost reduction program, hence the charges for additional towels, reduction in number of staff ...Etc.

Still a decent hotel, but not the bargain or level that it once was.

Internet connection in my room was bad, continuous interruptions, very weak signal, complete signal drop ...etc. If your connectivity is important to you, look for alternatives.

Very disappointing that the most expensive room they have, the suite no less, still have the old box TV and did not make it to a LCD or a Plasma. Suite has one TV only, sitting room has no TV. Suite cannot get more towels without paying extra. Very sad that my favourite hotel is not the favourite anymore.

Room Tip: High floors are quiter

First of all location is perfect , far from walking str. areas ( still only 20 minutes relaxing walk away,) 5 minutes walk from Central & surroundings full of local thai kitchens providing cheap but delicious foods . Also souvenir shops , massages , internet & all immaginable amneties are on same pavement . The hotel itself is quite new , staff very helpful with a smile , I stayed in a superior room facing pool but its quite most of day . Pool itself is big and so relaxing . Some hotels around advertise 'pools' but they only have a big bath . Rooms are really large with new furniture, comfy bed & lovely bathroom (only shower ). On the negative side paying 1700 thb / night (without bfast ) i pretend at least a plasma tv ( they have the old box type TV + tea / coffee making facilities as standard . When i asked staff they were really helpful to provide me with a water warmer but i still have to buy coffee sachets . Having said all this i still considering visit again . They provide free internet in rooms + have also 2 laptops in lobby to use for free , There's also a fitness room/gym which looks brilliant but im so lazy on holidays !

I work in the hotel industry myself and I must admit that this place can really be recommended. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff / chamber maids. The rooms are modern and very well equipped. WIFI is working perfectly. If you want a quieter room facing the pool then ask for a room on a higher floor because it can get loud at times from the swimming pool area. Overall no complaints and I have already booked again with the August Suites for August. Also special thanks to Manager Paul who was always helpful and most efficient.

This hotel is a true gem! I have stayed at many hotels in Pattaya -- actually, I am a regular. :) I stayed for 10 days, I was SO HAPPY at the end of my stay.
You want clean? I mean, really clean.....this is the hotel!
You want a QUIET room? ....I stayed ten days, great sleep every night.
You want a beautiful spacious room? Well, then enjoy this hotel.
But the best part was the management, the woman whose family owns the hotel is there all the time. I mean almost 24/7! If I were the owner, I would not work so much! I think her name is Sunitee (they call her Tee for short).
She makes sure the staff is VERY nice. And they are. The staff was from Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, and other places. Good people. All spoke English and treated me as I would be treated at a 5 star hotel in America.
Anyway, in case you have not noticed, I think this hotel rocks.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the fitness center was good. I also had lots of fun in the well maintained outside swimming pool.
