Fairly Basic but still Very Pleasant

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 10 Oct 2012
I have stayed in the Twin Palm Resort several times and in general, I really like it. The “resort” is split into four main Lodges situated on a fairly thin strip of land between 2nd Road and Beach Road, each Lodge being in a different price range. I stayed in the City lodge which is the budget category. Pros and Cons:

+ Although close to the city, the City Lodge was reasonably quiet.
+ Recently renovated with flat screen TV and local cable.
+ The grounds are attractive and it is pleasant to walk from one end to the other.
+ There are two pools but the smaller one is rarely used
+ WiFi internet is available in the room
+ Meals are available round the clock and breakfast is now included in the price
+ Food is good, something for all tastes.
- Staff in general are very friendly but the staff in the restaurant can be sultry
- The beds in the City Lodge are rock hard and certainly gave me back pain
- internet (WiFi) has to be paid for and is very slow at times – it broke down while I was there.
- There is no Gym although there is plenty of room for one
Date of stay: October 2012
Room Tip: The hotel should seriously consider building a Fitness Centre, most hotels that aspire to this...

We had a great stay at the twin palms. Rooms were reasonably priced, very clean and neat - only complaint was that we didnt have a little balcony. Room service was great. Pool was nice. Location was far enough away from walking street to be fairly quiet. We will be staying there on our next visit

Room tip: Maybe ask if any of the rooms have a balcony

We got a cheap deal from Agoda so booked this hotel, since the location was great, and breakfast was included. The property is HUGE, and split into 3 sections: the City wing, Garden wing & the Beach Wing. The distance between the City wing (where I & husband had a room) and the Beach Wing is like some 300 meters, and its no fun walking all the way in the sun to the restaurant for breakfast. The room was small & functional, beds hard. The washroom didn't have a exhaust fan, so that meant foul smells if the toilet door & room windows were not kept open. I don't think I would be staying here the next time I visit Pattaya.

Room tip: Choose the Beach Wing!

Im going to keep this one short!

It doesnt matter about central location and price when the bed is like this! Its harder than concrete and sleeping rough is preferable.

I could mention the rude staff but thats a side issue when your bed is made of stone.

I stayed here for two weeks in June and can't fault it. The rooms are a great size, the fridge is well stocked and very cheap to use. Huge bed, good air-conditioning and very close to the beach and 2nd Road.

One of my favourite features of this hotel is the fact that you can access it from either Beach Road or 2nd road, meaning whichever way you are going, you can get on the right road (as they're both one way in opposite directions, for those that haven't been before).

Overall, I would thoroughly recommend the Twin Palms Resort and will definitely stay there again.

Rooms: Clean, bed was a bit too hard, after 4 days my back began to hurt, 32 inch TV, everything seemed to be new in my room No: 2010. Toilet ok.
My room was too far from pool and restaurant, about 200 m.
Comfortable chairs on balcony

Eat and drink: Good and cheap restaurant open 24 hour. Lots of moscuitos after dark.

Other facilities: Swimmingpool very nice.

Walking distance to central festival shopping mall, go there if you are hungry! http://www.tripadvisor.se/Attraction_Review-g293919-d1594951-Reviews-Central_Festival_Pattaya_Beach-Pattaya_Chonburi_Province.html

Room tip: If you like balcony, choose the rooms in Garden view building, but it is far from pool. If you like to be more close to the big pool choose the Sea view building. I paid 1200 baht for my room.
