Sunshine Garden Resort
Ranked #143 of 458 Hotels in Pattaya
Reviewed 17 January 2013

The resort is ideally located from the beach front and provides lot of green cover and ideal setting for the entire family to relax. The in house services are very good with friendly staff to look after you. For a family this is most ideally located away from the rustle bustle of walking street and close to the best restaurants for Thai food, family store and supermarkets.

Room Tip: Cottages are better options than a normal room

This hotel is located right at the Dolphin Circle which is a big plus. So it becomes super convenient to catch a bhat bus and get dropped anywhere on the beach road or second road. The hotel is distant enough from Walking street to ensure you can stay with your family here. The staff at the reception is nice but only couple of guys understand English, so you will always have to look out for them to communicate.
Reading the name "Bungalow", I preferred booking it but upon entering the room I realized it was a small smelly room located at a shady corner of the hotel. Did not like the room and the washroom too was aged. There were stains on the toilet seat and we decided to change the room even if it comes at an extra price. Spoke to the reception guys to change the room and they showed us superior rooms and deluxe room. We found superior rooms good enough and shifted there without having to pay anything extra since they were priced as Bungalows only. The staff at the hotel is welcoming and entertains your requests, I did not find much in the breakfast since am a vegetarian but you can always go Indian restaurants to find yourself good food and there are plenty of them at Pattaya.

Overall I enjoyed staying there except the Bungalow part.

My first trip to Pattaya. I wasn't expecting much & the hotel surely did not disappoint.

The first thing I did when checking in was buy a 24hr Internet Voucher for 150Baht from reception. After waiting for almost 30 minutes to get our rooms, we realized our rooms were at the far end of the property which was quite a walk away. On reaching the rooms, I found that there was no WIFI signal available.. nor in the corridor, so I walked back to the reception to complain. One of the staff decided to come with me to check and so WALKED BACK to the room and of course, he couldn't get reception either and told me to inform the reception. So we WALK BACK to the lobby and the guys at the counter refuse to give me a refund saying that the card has already been activated! So the only option left for me is to keep walking to the Lobby every time I need to use the internet! Highly unprofessional.

The rooms were not the cleanest. I've seen better rooms at 3 star hotels in India. Bathrooms were stained. The beds thankfully seemed clean.

Room service took around 45 minutes and the server actually asked for a tip!

The food in the restaurant on the ground floor was surprisingly good & the breakfast was very average.

Staff were extremely unhelpful and rude & didn't even offer to help with the luggage.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a WIFI signal in your room before buying the Internet Vouchers!!

This hotel has exceeded my expectations in many aspects. To be honest they have improvement areas but so what, every body have few issues. This hotel is safe & secure and is easily accessible. It is also near to some of the restaurants, alcazar show, beach, walking street and sanctuary of truth. There is also a Taxi stand besides the hotel. Swimming pool is not for all as it has upto 3 metres depth. And there is a pool for kids too. They also provide umbrellas for you, very handy one.

Room Tip: no elevators so if you have elderly people pick up rooms in ground floor
