Nice and reasonably priced hotel. Good food close by. Like previous reviewer said, yes there are plenty of Russians staying at this hotel. Balcony patios overlooking the pool. The mattresses on the beds aren't the greatest but certainly above par for local hotel quality.

Stayed at the Eastin Hotel Pattaya for a one night weekend trip with friends. We were seeking a decent quality, centrally located hotel, and the Eastin provided on both accounts. The location at the upper end of Soi's 7 & 8 is right on the fringe of the bar district - but some way from Walking Street if that is where you want to be based. The accommodation for the base-level room is adequate - the rooms appear dated, but provide good sizing, a comfortable bed, and small balconies. The bathroom was dated in style and appearance, with shower over a bath. The common areas appear to have been somewhat refurbished - the reception is clean and modern, and the ground floor restaurant appeared the same (we did not dine). The swimming pool suffers from a lack of direct light, but is a good size with poolside bar and adequate sun bathing beds (for the approx 15 minutes a day when the sun is actually above the pool). Generally a good, clean central Pattaya hotel, which when it comes to other options the area, was perfectly acceptable to us!

Room Tip: There are some bars opposite the entrance to the hotel, so if your room faces this way, you may get some music/noise until the early hours of the morning.

We stayed at the Eastin Pattaya for 2 nights recently as part of a group tour. They served a traditional drink on checkin. Due to some confusion (hopefully genuine), we were allotted rooms that seemed to be under renovation, with solid concrete floor and all. We were then shifted to better rooms that had a balcony and wooden flooring. Rooms were very clean and quite spacious. Partial view of the sea from the balcony. Tea/coffee making facilities were available in the room. Wi-fi was free and fast; did not face any problems.

The hotel location is good with convenience stores, money changers, pharmacy nearby. The beach is just 5 minutes away by walk. Walking street is about 1km from the hotel. There are good and affordable dining options in the vicinity.

Breakfast spread was impressive with a range of options to suit varied tastes. Restaurant had a nice ambience with comfortable seating. Staff were polite, responsive and very helpful. They had small showers outside the hotel that enabled guests to wash up after coming from the beach before entering the hotel. Very thoughtful and convenient! Apart from the glitch in room allotment, we had a nice time at the Eastin.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building

My 2nd visit to this hotel, conveniently located close to the beach road & to Central Mall. The standard room was clean, the bed comfortable, small bathroom clean & functional. TV channels excellent as it included a Thai subtitled free movie channel. As the rain teemed down relentlessly, (swamping the major roads & leaving the 'night life' gloomy & bedraggled) this Eastin provided a pleasant haven well above the high water line. The difference between a standard room with breakfast & this room without, however, was a ludicrous 750baht more. Breakfast can be taken locally for a fraction. Nb Eastin: Policy review needed. Apart from that the reception staff were charming & friendly. The only real downside to our stay was our allegedly Indian(?) neighbour who felt it necessary to smash his room door shut at c.350mph at all hours, warble tunelessly in the shower & then argue with his female partner (when he arrived back at 3am). Its ok here, but its lags behind the Eastin Makkasan by a very lonnnnnnng way in substance & attitude.

Room Tip: Book the cheapest room in confidence, with or without breakfast, noisy other guests can come in all shapes & sizes, on any floor.
