I stayed in Areca Lodge for 3 days during Christmas 2011. I stayed in a Super Deluxe room, in the Evergreen wing, on the top (6th) floor.

I found the room to be comfortably appointed, very clean and the air conditioning worked well with little noise (to my ear anyway). Please note the air conditioning does not run when you remove your security keycard. The bed was huge, a little hard for some, but perfect for me. Had a small balcony with a couple of chairs, with the outlook over the pool between the Evergreen and Corona (I think) buildings. I found the light in the room excellent (and excellent curtains to block light when required), with an excellent amount of privacy. I did not find noise to be an issue, with the exception of occasional banging doors (which is to be expected at this level of accomodation).

The minibar is fully stocked, but I had nothing but water, of which none appears to be comlimentary, but at 30baht per bottle, is still cheap as by western standards. With a Familymart almost litterally next door, I doubt this is an issue to anyone anyway.

Although not tested, I was told the room is equiped with ethernet (cabled) internet access. I am not sure if its charged or complimentary. I was told there is wifi access in the lobby only, again not tested, nor known if charged. There are 2 pay per use PC for internet in the lobby, coin activated at 10baht/10minutes. There is a flat screen TV in the room, with electronic safe also.

The bathroom was large enough, quite clean, with a combined bath/shower. Personally I do not like this arrangement, but it suits fine for once/twice a day warm/hot shower. Unlike LK Renaissance, it is easy to climb into (Ie its not too tall!). Although the design seems to allow water to easily find its way to the bathroom floor. Towelling was sufficient for 2 people.

The location is excellent, on Soi Dianna. Directly accross the road is Mr T Taxi office to book airport or other personal transport requirements. The locality includes many bars, gogo bars, eateries, massage parlours and Megabreak pool all within a minute walk. The hotel arrangement at first is a little confusing, as the checkin for Areca and Corona buildings are at the front of the building, whereas Evergreen checkin is actually at the back (at the Evergreen building!). Some have mentioned the long walk from Evergreen to Areca (Entrance), however it is a minute or so at worst, so not far at all.

Buffet breakfast was included in my rate. The breakfast location is pleasant - near the pool, but limited selection of food. Quality is fine for me, Im not particularly fussy about breakfast.

The staff seemed generally friendly. I will note to those who have interest, there is a 300baht fee for an additional guest (after the first guest). I had 1 additional guest stay for a few hours for a meal, but despite my quiet protest to the desk staff, all the same was still charged.Any visitor is required to surrender ID to the front desk.

Overall a fine stay, for a reasonable price. I think I received good value, and will stay again. Previously I have stayed and reviewed LK Renaissance and Page 10, all in the same area. Of course all 3 for convenience are excellent, however overall I enjoyed my stay at Areca the best, and it did seem to provide best value.

Room Tip: Evergreen (Deluse and Super Deluxe) appears a good choice, with it being furthest from the Soi Diana...

This was my second visit to Pattaya but my first stay at the Areca Lodge. Location was excellent. On a little quieter part of a road but a number of bars are just a stone's throw away. A 5 mins walk and you will be at the beach road. A little away from walking street but ample tuktuks available for 10 baht. The staff was excellent & very helphul - always serving with a smile. The lobby was great & beautifully decorated for Christmas. The deluxe room was quite spacious and the balcony was overlooking one of the pool. I was at the Corona tower. There are two pools which are quite big. The breakfast was awesome & we enjoyed it even more by the poolside. Wifi connectivity was excellent in the room.
I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Room rates are quite reasonable and generally includes breakfast. Surely, I will be back at Areca Lodge during my next visit.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It is reasonably priced for a hotel. It was quiet even though it was in the middle of everything with bars all around. 2 swimming pools, great food, and excellent staff. Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Go for the pool view rooms. They are off the street and quiet.

Areca Lodge in Pattaya ticks all the boxes.
It is in a central location yet off one of the main roads so quieter than some of the larger hotels. Still close to a lot of good bars and eateries.
Standard rooms are comfortable though not plush but they are very reasonably priced at about £26 per night including breakfast, which is excellent. The hotel also has a swimming pool. Would not have any hesitiation about staying there again. Book early as it does get booked up quickly. Excellent value for the money

On entering the hotel you quickly realise that this one is much nicer than the other hotels in the area. On checking in, you get a cocktail brought to you. The lobby is gigantic, airy and bright. The two swimming pools are quite large and there's loads of sunloungers. There's a nice restaurant serving exotic food, a gym, spa and hairdressers, and a café.
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, but the balconies are too small to be useable.
All in all, a great place to stay, and in a good spot too!

This hotel is in a really, really central part of Pattaya and is a great location for getting to all of the places in the area such as festival shopping center, walking street etc and the Bhat bus is right outside as well. Well worth a visit as they have two great pools, AC, Safe...And they even have condon in the Mini bar, but that is due to it being in Pattaya.
