Excellent, friendly staff and especially the bar staff. Rooms well serviced every day. Pools well attended and again with effecient and friendly staff.
Sonkran festivities well supported by the staff and especially on the 19th.
Good and varied selection of food also.
Nice Place.

Room Tip: We had a pool facing room which was good.

Stayed at the Evergreen section for 21 nights and had a wonderful time, wonderful friendly staff,
breakfast good, clean room and overall very nice, only problem was when we booked transfer
to airport through front desk! The taxi was very old and back seat broken so we had a very
uncomfortable ride, so please make sure about the taxi when you book through the hotel!

I stayed at the hotel for 10 nights.

The room was ok, very large and comfortable bed. king size bed.
I got a problem with the wifi, immediately one of the staff brought router to my room. the connection was stable. sometimes it was down due problems in the hotel's wifi.

Breakfast was average, I think for this kind of hotel they should offer more. it was very simple breakfast. omelte by choice, some breads. limited hot and cold dishes, milk, fruits and fruit juice.

What was very annoying is the computers in the lobby, they charge 10 baht per 10 minutes. for a guest who pay about 2000 baht per night, it should be free like another hotels in their category and the area.

Staff receptions were nice, little smile won't be hurt them :) some of my friends that I brought to the hotel noticed that also.

I would stay in this hotel for my next trips, but I noticed they have raised the price again. in the current prices, there are many better choices. they publish in the evergreen building - " affordable luxury hotel", I'm sure after the 2nd raise - this sentence shall be removed.

Room Tip: Choose rooms at the evergreen tower, little walk but quiet at the night.

Dear Machinehead28,

First of all I would like to apologize for any cause disturb your rest in our hotel and feel not comfortable when you stayed with us. And thank you very much for your comment that we can improve our service to match your need any other guests as well. Right now we put cheese, stir mushroom with butter and mi-so soup in our buffet breakfast's choice. And everyday we change menu for choice of salad and also hot & cold dishes. (you can taste for your next stay).
For our room rate increase every year if you compare with valuable that you can have when you stay with us you'll see that just a very small increase because our location, our service and price are reasonable (compare with hotel around us)

Looking forward to welcome you back to Areca Lodge again.

Relaxation and luxury at its best.
I along with my wife and two daughters stayed at Areca Lodge from the 24th march for 4 nights. The check in was very quick. We stayed at the evergreen building the new bock. Our room was overlooking the pool. The room was very big and spacious, we had a double bed and a single bed, with an ‘L’ shaped sofa on which a child could easily sleep. It also had a kitchenette with counter and sink. The room had enough space for movement and also for kids to run around and play. The balcony was wonderful with a good view.

This is an extremely nice and safe hotel; both the pools are clean and good, though the smaller next to the main reception had salty water

The only slight disappointment was with the breakfast as they had more varieties of pork and less of chicken; also the dishes were limited and did not much change from day to day. But good spread of fruits, the staff is extremely polite, friendly and hospitable, they made all efforts to make one comfortable and attended to, even though language is a bit of a problem.

We would definitely recommend this hotel especially for families as it is safe, secure very roomy, excellent facilities and ideal location. It is about 5-7 min walk from the beach, the soi itself has a lot of excitement, with bars and pubs in plenty, but not at all disturbing. Once inside the hotel its calm.

There is a construction going on next to the hotel, some construction sounds could be heard but we were not disturbed by it. The hotel management is extremely concerned of its guests comforts and have put a notice it the lifts of their discussion with this construction company of timings of work and its completion, I think it’s a good gesture, on one day there was a wedding party at the pool side, the hotel management that day as well put a notice of the same with apologies of any disturbance if any and assurance that it will end at 11 pm, and actually there was no inconvenience to us at all.

We will definitely come back to this hotel. Good keep up the standards.

Room Tip: we had room 3415 it had excellent location.

This was the 3rd or 4th time I have stayed at Areca Lodge but I will not be staying there again.
The staff have become increasingly surly, the wifi is a waste of time (you're lucky to get a good connection for about 1 hour early in the morning) and the 'super deluxe' rooms are no longer super deluxe & need updating.
The main problem (as with Pattaya as a whole) however is the invasion of rude, obnoxious, moronic Russians. Sadly Areca Lodge is slowly been taken over by these retarded, ignorant cabbage eaters.

Dear JonJonSmuts,

At first please accept our sincere apologize for any cause made you feel not comfortable when you stay with us at Areca Lodge. And thank you very much for your comment that we can solve and improve our service to make you and other guests feel happy and comfortable.

For our staffs that not smile to guest we will teach and train them (you can recheck from your next stay how we can improve) and for our Super Deluxe room we always take care for cleaning, re-paint etc. but because since last November our hotel's occupancy still more than 90% so some rooms was turn to next guest so we can't do every room deep renovate. But now we already repaint and renovate every room look like a new one. Last comment for Russian guests because our hotel have FIT guest and travel agent guest as well so we will provide service for every guest as the same but we can control number of room and Russian guest not much more and because almost regular guests need a quiet and private rest, we care for this reason since we're opened. so we try to control the travel agent guest don't disturb other guest.

Hope you understand our situation and looking forward to welcome you back to Areca again.

Returned once again this March ,stayed in the evergreen block this time, nice room with small balcony,Very clean with excelent maid service daily.
Building work has commenced near the hotel and they were laying the foundations which was a constant thumping as they were pounding the pillars into the ground. This was totally out of the hotels hands, but i did find it extremely annoying and it drove me away from the lovely swimming pool area.
I am going to give this hotel a poor rating this time.which might seem a little harsh, but I did find the reception staff very unfriendly, perhaps a few smiles here and there could have made my stay more bearable.

Dear levibob,

Thank you very much for your comments regarding your experience at Areca Lodge.

We have strived to service our guests and it is more than our responsibility to meet their expectations. I have to sincerely apologize for the poor service that you have received and I will definitely bring this issue to the operation-meeting to ensure a consistent and acceptable standard of service.

Regarding the construction site nearby that has caused many inconvenience for our guests, we do closely coordinate with the project manager to ensure that any loud construction work shall start after 9.30 am and finish at 5.00 pm. We are told that the basement works, which are causing the loud noise, shall be completed by August - September of 2013. In response to the current uncontrollable factors, the management team is currently under discussion to set aside a policy that aims to compensate for this inconvenience. It is our duty to provide the best of value to our guest and we will do whatever possible ways to maintain it.

Lastly, thank you for choosing Areca Lodge; we do really hope to service you in the near future.

Warm regards,
Udomsin, S.
