“Good Value, Good Location.”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

I booked the Areca for 2 nights. Difficult to say anything negative. The staff were courteous, helpful and good natured. I was in the new wing, the rooms were well equipped very clean and tidy. The bed very comfortable. Breakfast was OK, nothing special but could have been better with a choice of eggs, none were available. Overall good value for a centrally located hotel, convenient for the town.

Room Tip: In the new building, evergreen, the rooms are quieter and obviously all fitting are new

I stayed for 11 days no problem at all. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are clean. Pools are ok. Everything is cool so far according to price. Ofc there is still room for improvement such as hair dryers in to bathroom etc. Also perfect location for nightlife.

Me and some friends stayed at Areca for 4 nights in Mrach 2014, our room was standard. Actually it consists of three wings, I cannot remember the other wing's name but we stayed at the modern areca. The rooms were clean and each room has a balcony and small bathtub, The breakfast was of a good quality, the staff were friendly, the location is really great and it offers free internet and 2 pools and well equipped fitness center.
The only complaint I can make is about the view of our room, no pool no garden, but an under construction building that became a bit noisy in mornings too.
However I'm glad to stayed at Areca and will come back again.
If you wanted to eat a really good steak or pasta don't miss the "Beefeater Restaurant" just a short walk from the hotel at 216/30-31 So Diana Inn. The best steak I've ever had, right now it is the #5 of 497 restaurants in Pattaya according to TripAdvisor.

I stayed in areca lodge many times .its perfect located .nice pools .nice breakfast .the cheapest massage in Thailand just outside in the street. Walking distance from everything.
A bit overpriced and standard rooms old and no hot water for shaving in the bathroom. ..

This is our first time to pattaya and our choice of Areca lodge was superb. This hotel has very friendly staff who are very helpful. Our room was in the corona building and the room was large and clean. Comfortable bed and we requested a extra pillow and it appeared when we returned from our walk. The shower was above the bath and plenty of hot water. Housekeeping were very friendly, kettle, tea and coffee supplied as well.

There was 2 gyms with equipment, but lacked a fan or air conditioning as they became stifling. The pools were fantastic. 2 beautiful clean well maintained pools, plenty of sun bed and shade. A bar service was available as well. Plenty of pool towels being replaced all the time.

Staff at the tourist information area were very helpful as well and always very cheerful.

Breakfast catered for most people and had a egg lady making omeletes and was kept pretty busy. A nice breakfast area with pleasant staff.

As others have mentioned, close to bars which are everywhere but I didn't hear any noise from our room. The air conditioner was little noisy, a humm from the outside motor but we got use to it pretty quickly.

When we return to pattaya we will definitely stay here again

This was the 3rd Hotel of 4, (see below), of our trip through Malaysia & Thailand. It's our 2nd stay at the The Areca. This visit we upgraded to a Super deluxe room, $75.00AUD inc. breakfast per night. Breakfast is fairly basic but enough, and caters for all nationalities The rooms are fairly large, clean and comfortable. A balcony for smokers and also a drying rack for hanging any washing. The staff are superb. Very, very friendly and helpful. Free WIFI. Two big swimming Pools and Bar. This is a great place to “unwind”. The night life, bars, dining, shopping and just people watching is brilliant . As in Chiang Mai there are Bars, Massages, Restaurants, Chemists 7/11 stores etc. and Laundries everywhere you look.
Beach Road-N/S, Second street S/N and Third street N/S are One way traffic and “REAL FUN” crossing them. P.S. DON'T expect all motorcyclists to be going the right way. PLEASE keep looking Left & Right. TIP: just walk at a continual pace, DO NOT stop, pivot or sidestep the traffic. They will swerve to miss you.

To travel up and down these streets is only 10Baht per any journey length, by Song-tail. (there are literally hundreds of them working.)

It is a 3 minute stroll to second street, and across the road to Mike's Plaza and through to the Beach road. Hundreds++ stalls for shopping and again virtually everything you want you can buy.

Site-seeing: Mini-Siam, Srircha Tiger Show, Tiffany's, Alcazar, Ripley’s, & Walking Street are ALL MUST SEE'S.

stayed here in March 2014, the hotel is nice clean and bright in a wonderful location, just round the corner from all the night lie, but the noise levels are good, no problems sleeping, the rooms are clean well maintained and of a good quality, breakfast is of a good quality and great selection,

the pool and gym are very good, and plenty of area to catch the sun in the quieter areas

would recommend this hotel, to anyone including families,
