The lodge is in fact three hotels in a complex. The tower, Corona and April. We stayed in the Corona and found the room always very clean although dated. The staff was the best I have ever experienced. ANON who worked on reception gave some good advice on trips and was pleasant to talk to.
The breakfast was excellent with a mix of traditional British and many exotic fruit.
The April section is the newest and looked much better because of that.
My top tip is use the laundry service. Turn round is 24 hours at minimal cost. So nice to come home with a suitcase full of clean and pressed clothes!
There as a bar outside on the driveway, this was good for a lifting drink before going out or a nightcap sometimes up to 3am. It seems they would stay open whilst ever anyone wanted a drink.
Do’s – Laundry, pedicure or manicure on the beach, flight of the Gibbon rainforest trip, coral Island trip book in the hotel a saving of over 1000 Baht (800 in hotel and 2000 at the beach) and the professional go kart track. Best bar with sensible friendly staff ‘don’t tell mama’ on walking street.
Don’ts – The submarine trip. Waste of time and money with staff that was so much under pressure they lost the land of smiles!

Stayed 5 nights with group of 8 at the end of April. After some changes in plans we came to this place having already stayed 2 nights elsewhere at a nicer hotel. At first it seemed a little underwhelming but overall it was good.

We were out and about doing a lot so we didn't spend a great deal of time at the hotel. Frankly, you wouldn't want to. It's not exactly creature comforts here. We were in the oldest building so maybe it would be better in the newer tower(s).

The rooms were simple but clean and tidy. The pool area was functional but like all pools in Thailand too hot! The location was good, it was easy to walk to most places or down to Second Road if you wanted a songtaew to the more far out places. The breakfast was just ok and I wouldn't recommend being too late down there. It was open air as well so very sticky.

Overall, I would recommend this for the traveller looking for somewhere comfortable at a reasonable price to get their sleep each night and then head out elsewhere during the day.

Stayed in the new Evergreen building of Areca Lodge in a Luxury room.
I was slightly disappointed with the quality of the fixtures in the room but overall was reasonably comfortable.
The staff on the whole were very helpful and efficient.
Swimming pool was a nice size and the hotel itself was good, but I feel the rooms could have been more comfortable.
Location is good, only a 2 minute walk to 2nd Road and all the bars and nightlife.
About 10 minutes walk from Walking Street.
Extremely GF hotel.
Would I use again....well only if I could not get a room elsewhere in Pattaya.

This hotel really suprised me for the price. It had a acceptable buffet breakfast, clean rooms with ok facilities and a great pool. I was expecting less for this price and with free WIFI as well I was really impressed.

The hotel was a little hard to find as no one we asked knew where the hotel was. All staff were very friendly and we booked a tour through reception who were very helpful with everything. The hotel was very clean and had a lovely swimming pool complete with a poolside bar. The food at the poolside bar was a little expensive but the buffet breakfast was good value.
