“Fantastic for family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2014

Pattaya is a wild city and the Elephant Village is a good place for families. Just outside Pattaya city, the place is in the forest, well maintained and clean. We got pick up and drop off by their bus and had a great time. We loved it.

“Ok ride an elephant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

So once in your life you have to ride an elephant... and while you're in Thailand you might as well. Located at the southern end of Pattaya on the Sukhumvit is the elephant village... really more of just an elephant pit stop... although it isn't clear that the elephants enjoy it or think about it that way. This is as good a place as any to check an elephant ride off of your bucket list.

The elephants found wandering around town on holidays are merely there for eating expensive sugar cane, you buy it at 20THB and they package it at 1 THB... they don't give rides on the street. And if you're lucky enough to visit some of the northern Thailand (Chang Mai & Chang Rai) elephant sanctuaries were you can observe them in their natural habitat you won't get to ride them there either.

Elephants are big, smelly and have hairy, coarse skin... but see for yourself, enjoy the ride, get a picture and say that you've done it.
