I have been going to this hotel for the last 10 years, for a week every October. I have got to know many people there and I have many friends who work there. On my last trip, at checkout I was told that a hairdryer bag was missing from my room, and I was asked to pay 250 Baht. I notified the duty manager that I hadn't taken the bag, and I can't even remember if it was originally in my room when I went there. The duty manager would not even consider what I was saying, and just wanted to charge me 250 Baht. I explained to her that she could check my luggage; again she wasn't interested in what I was saying. I told her that I had been coming to this hotel for many years, and would not come here again. Again - she ignored me, and all she wanted to do was charge me. Talking to some of my friends who worked there, they said that since new management had taken over this hotel, this was a common occurance. They also said that this new management isn't interested in providing quality accomodation, but are more interested in the high turnover (ie. coach loads of tourists). I have written a letter to the manager - no reply. Definately wouldn't stay here again.More
