I have been going to this hotel for the last 10 years, for a week every October. I have got to know many people there and I have many friends who work there. On my last trip, at checkout I was told that a hairdryer bag was missing from my room, and I was asked to pay 250 Baht. I notified the duty manager that I hadn't taken the bag, and I can't even remember if it was originally in my room when I went there. The duty manager would not even consider what I was saying, and just wanted to charge me 250 Baht. I explained to her that she could check my luggage; again she wasn't interested in what I was saying. I told her that I had been coming to this hotel for many years, and would not come here again. Again - she ignored me, and all she wanted to do was charge me. Talking to some of my friends who worked there, they said that since new management had taken over this hotel, this was a common occurance. They also said that this new management isn't interested in providing quality accomodation, but are more interested in the high turnover (ie. coach loads of tourists). I have written a letter to the manager - no reply. Definately wouldn't stay here again.

it is an old hotel with minimum of a 4 star hotel but the garden and pools are wonderful.it is a heaven wikth just an old building and unfriendly staff.ofcourse the location is out of the city and it helps the relaxation you expect from such a beach holiday

I have stayed at the Asia many times over the last ten years but this was ther first time in low season and we stayed for 13 nights at the full quoted rate. The place was empty for most of our visit except for the one night stops for bus tours and conference parties who I am sure were not paying the same rates as us .
As usual the staff, with the exception of those at reception, were very friendly and helpful and it was nice to be recognised and welcomed back by many of them. As many people have commented over the years the hotel is badly in need of a complete renovation but I knew what to expect and was happy to accept the quoted prices although it is now probably too much given the state of the place.
On the day of departure we did not leave the resort until 9.30 p.m. but the reception insisted that we pay a full nights charge instead of waiving this given our total spend, the number of times we have returned and the fact that the hotel was empty.
This total lack of flexibility will continue to drive loyal customers away and we now add two to this increasing number. We will never be back.
