staff ..well some very helpful..a couple of others.....one in particular...like extracting teeth.great location..clean rooms..but..
if u choose a room anywhere on the street side of the hotel..away from the beach..expect...NOISE...thumping noise..both sides of the hotel are face soi's with horrible thumping girly bar
music..from 7pm..thru to 3 am..if your trying to get an early nite sleep..forget it..if your feeling unwell..forget it...my tv was almost on full volume to get over the noise,,.i suggest the the sea view rooms..more expensive..by about 100 bht..but believe me ..worth every cent
pool on the roof is adequate ..looks huge in the photo..but like most photos is a lot smaller than it looks..
wi fi not free..in fact very costly..why on earth a hotel of this size doesnt supply free wi fi is beyond me..
look..seems i have bagged it..its actually pretty good..just remember..keep away from the street rooms..it is oppressively loud..and be prepared to pay for wi fi..also..no safe in your room..strange i thought..once again for a hotel of this size..

Room Tip: sea view always..DO NOT risk street facing fooms

Hard beds!!! Small Bathroom.
Staff could be alot nicer, breakfast was very very basic, tasteless fried rice, hard UN-eatable dry bacon, coffee not nice, the omelettes, egg counter outside that we didn't notice day 1 was the only nice thing their other than cereal. Good location.
Booked tiger zoo though them Very expensive get own taxi and pay entrance unless you want pat bit more for taxi to wait for you and he shows you around for the first 30mins in the zoo.

I got to the Flipper lodge early. The receptionist had informed me that my room won't be ready for @ least FOUR hours. So I just said thank you and sat in the lobby opened my laptop and tarted to check my emails. ( mind you, she offered me another room on a lower floor. But she said I wouldn't like it. ) 35 minutes later the receptionist told me that my room was ready, I just popped up and scooted to the front desk. O M G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE ROOM WAS SO WORTH THE WAIT !!!!!!! Big, clean and so modern. This is by far the BEST room I have had while in Pattaya. The bathroom was very nice. I had a many channels to watch and the bed was very comfortable. Overall the Flipper Lodge is a big hotel that has great service. The staff are very helpful and they make things happen for you @ your request. I WILL CERTAINLY recommend this hotel to all of my friends and people that ask me about were to stay in Pattaya.

Room Tip: You have all of the bars around you. The Sailor Moon Bar and rest. is right across from the hotel. T...

Booked into Flipper lodge for 5 nights not expecting much. When I arrived I got very little response from the desk staff who had trouble with smiling ( strange in Thailand ).Once booked in the room was fine, huge bed, two large singles pushed together and in all clean and tidy. The view out the window was of the doors to the old building next door so the curtains stayed shut. The cleaning lady was great and I had breakfast in the hotel once at it was good and the people nice. Payed extra for wifi which played up apparently because of strife in Bangkok. Great roof top pool with great views which was needed because April / May is the hottest time of year to visit Thailand. Surrounded by bars and night life which I liked more than Walking street.

Room Tip: In section B choose an upper room for a decent view. Make sure you book a double and not twin....if...

Last year I stayed at the Flipper House which is just around the corner and I believed the lodge was an upgrade based on the price difference so I booked at the Lodge this year. The lobby is dated but still looks nice. The elevator did not work the entire time i was there. there was only one electric outlet and that was in the bathroom so if you have an ipad or camera that needs charging you have to put it in the bathroom or unplug the tv. i was told all rooms have the same 1 plug. the hallways are not airconditioned and there is a limiter on the room AC so it will only get just so cool no matter what temp you set it on.. it also only operates when the key tab is inserted so everytime you return to the room you have to try to cool it down again. breakfast was not worth waking up for. this place is tired! so many better choices for less money in Pattaya.

Room Tip: no room is good here.

Stay in Flipper Lodge in April 2014.Good location:Soi 8,just beside Festival,big rooms,nice roof pool,excellent brekfast:Thai-farang food.But for 1500 THB/night you will NOT get wifi,hotel managment sell "top-up" wifi cards:50 THB/30 min.
So only 4 star beacause in 21. century wifi MUST be free(even in Thailand)!

My time at flipper lodge was a disaster, the staff in the restaurant are the only pleasant people in the hotel. Reception are so rude, I will never go back. This was my second visit there and I was disappointed to see things had gone down hill from the 1st visit I made.
