Being a single lady traveller,. This is a fantastic apartment hotel. All nice and clean. Each apartment has well appointed living room with kitchen, bedroom and a nice balcony overlooking the pool. TV in both living room and bedroom. Free internet. Great restaurant and friendly staff.

Regularly stay in the Residence Gardens... its a quiet haven a short distance away from the entertainment district of Pattaya - 5 mins on Baht bus to walking street. Very clean, excellent housekeeping, and good internet access etc. Very recommended... not the cheapest, but excellent value for money, and as a place to relax... excellent.

  • Liked — Good location, clean rooms, good service.
  • Disliked — road in front being relaid .... bit noisy / dusty to cross.

We ve booked our holiday stay in Residence Garden directly with hotel's manager IB in march 2008. Whole reservation has been sorted via email, and we were offered half the usual rate!!! As there were 3 of us booking 3 seperate rooms. Ib has sorted airport transport for Us as well.

After arrival to Pattaya we were liturally shocked with the hotel standards and size of the rooms - each one of us got the superior suite room with balcony. Absolutely loved it.

I ve been to Pattaya twice, last time sayed in 5star hotel, but staying in Residence Garden was best of all thanks to Ib and his staff.

Forgot to mention evening grills at hotels outdoor restaurant - a must do while in pattaya. Lots of food for pennys.

Absolutely would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Pattaya.

  • Liked — Friendly staff and great atmosphere, Evening grill events, Size of the rooms, Everything basically :-)

This is the first hotel I have stayed in where the reception staff actually all understood English and all were very friendly. Excellent suite (more a one bed apartment then a room) and cleaned daily. Location is 5 mins from Walking Street and a 20baht bus ride gets you into the action within minutes - its on the main Jomtain - Pattaya baht bus route and they come every minute of so. At time of visit, pavement was undergoing works outside hotel, which was a bit annoying as to enter complex had to negoiate building site. No lady fee at hotel if you wanted to bring a guest to your room. Pool used lots and was clean. 24 mini mart opposite and over 50 channels on TV including the English Pattaya TV channel (watch and you will laugh as it is so bad it is good!). Internet shop within 200 yards and main shops start at same place. Highly recommended, clean room, modern bathroom, constant hot water (an oddity in Pattaya) and quiet location but not so quiet as felt in danger walking home late at night. Not the cheapest in Pattaya but pay the little extra and enjoy a nice clean hotel. Also bell travel a coach company picks up each hour from gate 7 at the airport and takes you to the main bus station in Pattaya and then puts you on a minibus to the hotel all for 150 baht (a bargain) and also will collect from hotel and take you back to airport for same price.

Firstly, I just want to start off that for the money (2,000 Baht) it was good value.
I'm going to list positives and negatives.

Main positives are:
1. The size of the room.
The room is actually a suite and you also get a balcony.
Lovely living room area with comfy sofa and cooking facilities (hot plates).

2. Room facilites.
Two TV sets and big in-room safe.
Internet was wireless (and was included in room rate).
Internet was not the fastest but also wasn't slow either.

3. Helpful staff (but this is the same all over Thailand).

Main negatives are:
1. The location is attractive as it is situated a litle away from Pattaya but I was surprised when I first arrived that the front of the hotel looks on to a busy road and that the back looks on to blocks of flats. No sight of the beach or sea anywhere.

2. The food was absolutely terrible.
My medium steak came well done and I swear the meat was pork and not beef (and I have eaten a lot of great steak in some very fancy restaurants so I should know).
I don't know though if this is the fault of the hotel or of the restaurant next door.

I wouldn't return to the Residence.
This decision is based on the quality of the food that they serve as there can be no excuse for serving bad food in Thailand.
Don't want to put others off though.
Personally, I would advise to book 1 or 2 nights to see how you like it and then make your decision about whether to stay for longer.

  • Liked — wireless internet and space of room
  • Disliked — The food!!!

This is a nice family run hotel situated between Pattaya and Jomtien Beach which benefits from being slightly away (although within walking distance) of the main Pattaya tourist district.
We booked a family suite (2 adults and 2 children) which was spacious with two big bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living/dining area and patio doors leading directly onto the poolside. The daily maid service was spot on and staff were very accommodating.
Attached to the hotel is the Captains Table restaurant which produces lovely food (although slightly pricier than some of the local restaurants along Jomtien Beach).
The hotel has two swimming pools, one to the rear and one at the front of the hotel which catches the sun all day long. The pool at the rear of the hotel is used by the local diving schools some days and that is the only gripe we had as this pool was the most convenient for our room.
Across the road from the hotel is a grocery store, laundry (very good value), a hairdresser (again great value and service) and an internet cafe run by a Thai girl who is very happy to give advice and information on the area.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to families, couples and single travellers who want to stay in a more peaceful area of Pattaya whilst still being a short bus hop from the shopping, beach and nightlife.

  • Liked — Clean rooms, good pool, helpful staff
  • Disliked — Minor gripe but divers monopolising pool to rear of hotel which was outside our room

Stayed in the Residence Garden for 15 days in May and it was great!
The room was actually a suite as there was a seperate living/dining area.
The staff were always very friendly and helpful, especially the cleaners.
The price was very good at 1400 Baht (£21, $40).
The place was very clean with a nice pool in the front. It was a short walk to Walking St or the beach or lots of Baht buses to jump on for only 10 baht.
I would definitely recommend!!

  • Disliked — Nothing - I loved it!
