“Friendly staff”
Reviewed 16 August 2009

I stayed at the Mercure hotel in july for 2 weeks, i got a great price off hotels.com. I found the staff to be very friendly, which was the only good point from this hotel, apart from the nice pool. I had to chhange rooms 3 times, firstly cos there was construction in the hotel next door and i could hear the noise and cudnt relax by the pool or in my room. The next 2 times were due to the air conditioning, firstly it was the unit on the outside which was very loud, and secondly it was the unit on the inside which made several different noises, plus also the outside unit was loud, i think that is the case in every room. when you are on the balcony you cant stay out there to long if you leave the air conditioning on in your room, as the the noise of the unit is very loud, its a shame really as the hotel looks nice the pool nice and the staf good.

We dashed into Pattaya to recharge and relax having a heavy work week and checked into Mercure Pattaya after making a last minute reservation.

We were very impressed on arrival. The entrance and it's greenery and landscape, though of a smaller scale were beautiful and make the best of mother nature.

Mercure Pattaya is a class act above the other surrounding properties. The check in staff were excellant and gave us the warmest welcome and assisted us with our millions of questions. They helped us planned our short stay and trying very hard to ensure we have a good stay.

The resort sat slightly into the inner road, off from the main road and that ensure it's exclusivity and quietness. It was thoughtful of the Mercure Pattaya management to provide a complimetary shuttle service to the main road where the shopping, eateries and action are. In just seconds, we can be transported to the centre of it all.

The free form big swimming pool make swimming a sheer delight, even right till 9pm. The well design lightings in and surrounding the pool make quite an experience swimming in special effects flood lights.

The bedroom is cozy and restful with great ID designer furnishing. The beddings were a sheer delight to "hit the hay stack" at the end of the day.

The restaurant is a must try experience. We had the best Itailian food and lamb shank. The taste out of this world! The buffet breakfast spread was numerous, generous and a good start for the day.

All in all, the Mercure Pattaya is good value for money with a high calibre standard in service, quality and embience.

Stayed for 8 days, Room very well laid out, well designed bathroom, nice balcony, no problem with guests. Very nice pool are with loungers. Lounge area looked nice but seats could do with backs.

Location not very attractive but free transport readly available to second road, also motorcycle taxis available.

Delox rooms are the same as superior rooms, the only things you get extra for your money are tea and coffe making facilities, a hair dryer and a kettle.

We were at hotel Mercure Pattaya middle of June and stay there four nights. The hotel was nice, the room are clean and staff were friendly. The pool water could have been little bit colder but anyway it was nice. Breakfat was quite poor, and the prices of the minibar in the room was too high. Overall very nice hotel and can clearly recommend it for all. Late check-out was free of charge, that was nice service of the hotel.

On the front desk of this hotel is a notice asking guests to post their opinions on TripAdvisor. I’ve been to Pattaya many times over the last 15 years or so and have probably stayed in 10 different hotels there, so here’s my two cents worth.
The hotel is located about 150m from the beach in South Pattaya. If you’re familiar with Pattaya or are staying for more than a couple of days the location (copy and paste N 12°55.680’ E 100°52.875’ into Google Maps to view) would be a good option. It’s basically behind the new “The Avenue” shopping centre (which contains a 24 hr Villa Supermarket, Cineplex, bowling alley and plenty of restaurants and fast food outlets) on Pattaya Second Road, in a quiet street with little traffic or construction noise (at time of writing). Walking Street is about 10 minutes walk, or get the concierge to explain how the 10 Baht Beach Road/Second Road circular “bus” system works for easy access to most local points of interest. One of Pattaya’s very few “Taxi-Meter” ranks is also nearby; in front of “The Avenue”. The hotel also offers its own secure car park (free).
Don’t come here for luxurious accommodation as the tiled floor standard rooms are a tad on the small side, with rather cramped bathrooms, but are otherwise quiet, clean, tidy and well equipped. The split system air-cons are quiet and effective, but they exhaust onto the balcony making it (the balcony) un-inviting if the air-con is running. The box type TV has the usual run of satellite and movie channels.
The large pool and surrounds is a relaxing oasis, bounded on two sides by a lush garden, and certainly offers a better option than the beach, which is pretty mediocre in this part of Pattaya.
The hotel can be easily/instantly booked on Accor Hotels’ own website, offering various prices depending on how much flexibility you want. Being part of the Accor group the hotel is well managed, with all the loose ends tidied up. As usual this sort of attention to detail tends to attract higher than average charges for hotel services (internet 30 min/100 Baht) and F&B (Heineken 120 Baht) for this level of hotel in Pattaya. If you know Pattaya well or are prepared to take a punt on a lesser known chain or hotel, you will certainly find better rooms/views/locations for the same or lower price, but you may then have to put up with the vagrancies of local management, or possibly more “relaxed” attitudes to service, security and food hygiene. With Accor you generally know what to expect.
I’d stay here again (although being in the travel industry I get a better rate than is available to most guests) and would recommend it to families.

We stayed in the Mercure Hotel, in June 2009; this was the last stop of our three centre holiday. We had booked to stay in a 4* hotel, however after learning of extensive building works going on next door to our hotel, we asked to move hotels. We were offered the Mercure which was a 3* however when we arrived we were really surprised by the standards of this hotel, it was very modern and friendly, we upgraded to a deluxe room that overlooked the pool, the pool area was great with very friendly staff. The location of the hotel was really good with only a short walk to the closest shopping complex, supermarkets and the famous Walking Street and beech front. We had a great holiday and would definitely stay at the Mercure again. We travelled with Premier Holidays, going to Hong Kong, Bangkok & Pattaya, all the hotels we stayed in were, great and of a good standard, along with the private transfers that the travel company arranged for us, made our holiday very memorable, we would recommend Premier Holidays to anyone the service was excellent
