I just came back from Pattaya and thought I need to share my experiences in this hotel. Basically nothing about the hotel itself but it is true that 80% of the guests are from India. The location itself is in the Indian/Arab quarter of Pattaya. It is unclear to me why so many Indians choose this hotel, mainly they come in groups. I have hardly seen none Indian couples or families during my stay.
Was ok, no big issues except that the elevator was out of service and had to walk up to the 6th floor.
Beach is quite a walk but the Pattaya beach is anyway not so nice to go in. If you would like to swim at the beach you should go to Jomtien Beach south from Pattaya. Walking Street is about 10 minutes walk but you will reach the most southern end of Walking Street. So if you would like to reach the Beach Road where the nice restaurants and bars are you need to walk quite a bit but it is manageable. Nearby you find plenty of convenient stores and just Indian restaurants but you can go to Beach Road.
I got a room in the old building and must say that it is and looks old. . E.g. the orange chair in the room was so old and dirty that I decided to cover it with a towel. It is ok to stay few nights but if you woulke to stay more in the room you should book a better hotel. Since there were some issues with my room like that the cicarette rests were not cleaned up and elevator still not working I complained and got a room in the new wing with a balcony. The room in the new wing is much better but came with a twin bed instead of a double bed.
The restroom of the old room was quite small the new room was much bigger and ok. It had a bath tub and a shower cabin. The amenities aren't world class quality so I used mine.
The pools are ok and clean, maybe those are the best parts of the hotel. Some Indian guests didn't bring their swimsuits and swom just in their underwear that was inapproriate. The hotel seems to have this issue often, otherwise I couldn't explain why they had even an signboard saying you sould wear swimsuits. But those Indian guest didn't care about the rest, they just continued swimming in their underwear. I decided not to into the pool anylonger.
The variety is ok, for this class of hotel I was surprised that they even serve fried eggs. They had everything which a 5-star-hotel breakfast buffet also had.
Was ok but took a long time until they had checked for any minibar consumption.
I think that this hotel is understaffed. When we sit at the pool and wanted to have some beers nobody came so we had tell somebody at the looby. I asked the front desk to send somebody to pick up luggage for check-out (and I had a few large bags) nobody came. When checking into the new room the safe was not working, I asked to send somebody to fix - nobody came even after calling 3 times. I found out that there was a on-off-switch at the back. Overall if the management would take care the hotel would look much better. The staff is very friendly if you can catch them. Especially the new wing could be competitive.
I am not recommending this hotel and so did nobody in our group of friends. The management issues and the old building are not a standard that you should accept. Of course, the cheap price is an argument, so if you would like to travel on low budget then you are welcome. But there are for sure other properties that might be also cheap but serve you better.
PS. I just realized that the good reviews below are mainly from Indian guests. Maybe there is something that I and the other non-Indian guests have missed..
