The location of the villa is perfect. In a secure, very well looked after, gated community. There really is no need for a car. We walked to Boat Avenue several times a day and it is only a 5-10 minute walk. On Boat Avenue you will find a selection of eating and drinking places with choices for everyone. There is also a very well stocked supermarket carrying a range of supplies that many of us know. The beach options are a little further away. We still walked it but could be a bit challenging with little ones! It’s probably a 20-25 minute walk. A return taxi journey would cost BHT500.
From booking and during our stay, Lisa, the owner was very good at answering any queries we had. We had a couple of issues initially upon our arrival but they were resolved pretty quickly.
The maid, Aey, was excellent. She was around 6 days a week and looked after us very well. We had her prepare breakfast/lunch and it was never too much trouble. Her spoken English was very good. We also took advantage and had a chef come in a couple of times to prepare food for us. The cost of this was very good value, BHT1500 then the cost of the food. This is Thailand so not a fortune.
Off the master suite was a spa room. We got the maid to arrange massages for us almost every other day and this was also excellent value and very convenient. The only down side to it is the spa bed. If, like me, you prefer to have a donut space for your face to look through, you won’t have this! I found it uncomfortable having my head twisted to one side and caused tension for me. This is me!!
The villa does have everything you need but with a couple of draw backs. There is WiFi throughout the villa. However, it’s the old system (not fibre) and so not quick enough for thr TV box. The TV box would give you loads of choice for TV channels and a full range of movies. Once again, the WiFi is not quick enough and every couple of minutes the movie would freeze. In the end you give up. The outdoor space at the villa is so peaceful but with inadequate lighting for sitting out in the evening. We would have loved to have taken advantage of sitting out but it was just too dark. The maid got someone to change some of the bulbs but in reality they all need changing. You couldn’t sit under the sala in the dark....it was hardly lit. There are 3 baths in the villa. Two of them are outside and the 3rd is indoors but could have windows opened so you felt like you were in the garden! All sound very romantic. However, they are concrete baths and the surrounding areas to them is not kept together well! It wouldn’t leave you with a nice relaxing feel. So it was showers for 4 weeks!!
All the bedrooms have blackout curtains which would be lovely if they closed properly! This area would really benefit from either cleaning or replacing.
I think because we had a 4 week stay certain things started to irritate us. It does lack a bit of tlc.
Would we stay again? Yes we would.
