“Pleasant stay”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

We enjoyed our stay here but did not love it!
Hotel was quite noisy because of the neighbouring houses, but that's not the hotels fault just unlucky in where our room was situated.
The rooms it self's great, spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was average and the staffs really need to work on their English, as it was very hard to communicate and get information about Dalat and where to go and see. Overall, the stay was pleasant and given the chance we would return again here.

I Stayed 1 night at this hotel during my Vietnam inspection trip this July. The room is very clean and huge with 02 double beds, 1 comfortable chair and a lovely balcony. The sightseeing around this hotel is very nice, green and romantic. The staff were helpful, friendly but the breakfast is just so so. As this hotel is quite big and not many tourist there, I felt a little bit cold and quiet.
One disadvantage point is the location. This hotel is quite far from local market for walk (where I really loved and enjoyed many local foods) and city center, Xuan Huong Lake. Anyway, I have had a comfortable stay there.

Dalat, high in the Central Highlands, is an out-of-the-way part of Vietnam. The town is small, but with an incredibly manic central market, an absolute must-see. This hotel is a few blocks away, an easy walk, but up on a hill and well away from the hustle and bustle. Restaurants, shops, and other attractions are all within easy walking distance. Don't miss the Truc Lam zen Buddhist pagoda, or try visiting a nearby Montagnard village.

The rooms are spacious and decorated with a French style. Large windows and nice balcony. Bathroom would need some renovations. The floor gets all wet when you shower.

I had requested a non smoking room, but my room was always cigarrette smelling. We explained the problem to the reception and they assured us that our room is located in a non smoking hall. Then, on our way up, we talk to the housekeeper and she informs us that our room is, in fact, in a smoking area, and that, unfortunately, all the non smoking rooms are taken by this group (there on business for the weekend). So we call reception again, asking why they would tell us that our room was non smoking when it actually was (the housekeeper said that if there was an ashtray, it is smoking). Reception then tells us that "there is no such thing as a non smoking area in their hotel and that if we request a non smoking room, they simply take out the ashtray".!!

So we slept all night with the balcony window open and had to endure the noise coming from the 2 clubs downstairs.

In terms of location, this hotel is a bit further from the market (downtown) then the other ones, so we thought it'd be more quiet, but we were wrong. Not recommended at all!

This is a most beautiful hotel in Dalat. The rooms are spacious, and the hotel is very beautiful built in a French style. The service was very good, and breakfast was delicious. Very recommended in Dalat.

We stayed 2 nigths at this charming hotal centrally located in Dalat. The rooms are big and nice. the breakfast OK, but not the best we have had so far at similar hotels in Vietnam. It is clean and as allways the personnel are kind and friendly. It is within working distance to central market (15 min.).

Wifi at the hotel is free but very poor - too slow. The capacity is not for modern usage (even small videoclips cannot be viewed).

The first nigth we were kept awake by a couple of dogs barking constantly from 3am until we got up.

The last night we stayed at the hotel there was a wedding party in in dining room and it was very very loud. I asked if they could keep the doors closed, but they didn't. the party went on from 5 pm until 8pm, so we did manage to get sleep. But we came to Dalat to relax and not to be disturded by noise.

we did not try to use any of the additional service but would expect a pool to be available at a 4 star hotel. I did not find that.

If you are ok with a noicy wedding party or barking dogs and 3 star breakfast at this so called 4 star hotel, then go for it.

In my view this is only 3 star hotel and I will not stay here again

Room Tip: ask for rooms in the wing opposite to the dinning room facing the stree not the backyard

See yourself in the 30's of last century and enter the Sammy hotel. Look around in de big entrance and go by elevator to your spacious room. Sit in the chairs and enjoy the fruit on the table. Then take a shower or bath after a hot day and use the benefits of 2013, like Wifi, good airco, or a cool beer or wine from the fridge. Overlook from your balcony the city that is on walkingdistance of only 10 minutes. The climate is like in France in spring and that's the reason why the French discovered 100 years ago and probably build this hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much and could hardly find any negative remarks. Breakfast was excellent and in a big room, that felt like we were Royalty. Don't miss this experience!

Room Tip: From the back you have a view on the city, but ask for a higher floor to see more.
