“Good place to stay+amazing tour”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

The hotel is very western in style and facilities. Breakfast could be a bit more substantial. Location is good.
However, the highlight, you can trust TravelinAlan, is Mr. Rot's so called "secret tour," an all day trip into the country on the back of a motorbike, for $30 US, including lunch in a local home and a special visit to the Kho Cil people, where I saw a woman turn a ball of cotton into thread in less than 5 minutes using a machine that had to be over 100 years old. Amazing.
Our first stop was a Cricket Farm, a new one for me, where you can try one if you wish. I did. Not
bad in a lemon and chili sauce. Great fun.

Room Tip: I had a single room. A double for 2 would be a better value.

The rating is for the hotel not the tour.

Pros:- Beds comfortable, English stations on tv, bedrooms were spacious
Cons:- Breakfast very poor, no bathroom facilities, location is not in the center of town, neither of the two computers worked and we had problems getting wifi even from first floor. Reason it was chosen was to do mr rot secret tour extra $30 so it is a pricey stay.

This hotel is great, comfortable large rooms, simple breakfast and good water pressure.

The Secret Tour they offer was LITERALLY the best tour my fiance and I have EVER been on. It included everything possible you would want from a tour. Dont ask questions just do it. I'm Serious book a reservation and go the secret tour. NOW!

The villa is beautifully kept with a pretty garden and clean rooms and surroundings. Friendly staffs who speak good English makes you feel welcomed and at home. They recommend must see, must go and must try food stops around town- very personal touch. Elderly ladies ( family that runs the place )smiles and always in good spirits even though they hardly speak much English, feels like coming to grandma's place. The wifi signal is strong and stable.

The highlight of Da Lat is the Secret Tour conducted by Mr Rot and his sistet Ms Son. It was a tour that is not touristy but a first hand experience on Da Lat lifestyle, her people and their stories. Come with an open heart and an open mind. It made my trip to Vietnam a memorable one. Do not miss this tour !! Bring a jacket to keep warm.

Cute house just as the picture shows. Nice staff who can speak good English, and Chinese, by the way.
However, the shower was hot at first, but got cooler and cooler later on. It was really frustrating as Da Lat was a little cold at night.

Stayed for just one night to do some sightseeing. Very helpful staff, lovely clean rooms with clean beds, towels, fridge and mosquito net. Quiet location and lovely views from the higher floors. One small issue with booking.com whose info states that every room has a bath tub - this is incorrect and I had to explain to reception that I had booked expressly in order to have a bath. They did move me, but it is useful to know about. Breakfast is indeed a bit on the thin side, but it does the job until lunch. The only reason it gets 4 not 5 stars is because it isn't brilliantly soundproofed and I was awoken very early by a couple somewhere in the hotel who were obviously not aware that they were audible ..... also, there was military marching music broadcast from a government building nearby from 7.30, so no chance of a lie-in after a late night.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor with a corner bath.

I will make this simple - 2 adults and my 18 year old son (gift for graduation)

1. We stayed on the third floor - one of the best views in the city.
2. We did take the 'secret motorcycle tour'; well worth the money. My wife had only ridden once on a motorcycle back home and still did fine riding. Have your wits about you on Vietnam roads and roundabouts!
3. Never ate here - there are plenty of places in town, including a great bakery.
4. Close enough to everything we walked to, from the night market to Crazy House and beyond.

I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for the third floor - it is a hike when you are tired after walking BUT great views in the morni...
