The staff are wonderful and the villas are lovely- most comfortable beds in Viet Nam- we ate in the hotel because the food was very good (especially breakfast) and the chef accommodating. Both villa 4 and 6 offer standard rooms- but we were shown villa 3 to dream about. We wish! We were impressed with the management and staff I had met 3 years still remembered me- by the way he is a very professional guide and speaks excellent English. They were very concerned that our private taxi driver abandoned us and wanted to refund our money. Took advantage of the vintage car ride for fun (and it was!).
My partner loved it and it was a great way to finish up a long trip.

Room Tip: Ask when booking where the rooms are located. Those in the villas near the reception are quieter.

The wooded grounds separate the villas on a hilltop. Our deluxe room was cozy with the electric fire. Chilly air precluded outdoor activities. The staff is very friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our two night stay.

We stayed two nights in one of these wonderfully restored french-style villas. They are so well restored that you actually could think that everything is original - it really beams you back in time. The a la carte breakfast is absolutely amazing with freshly baked bread! This place is great to relax and get some energy back if you need a break from the busy and noisy cities in the country. The Spa treatment was heavenly!

Oh what a lovely visit we had here. Such an excellent place to stay. The staff are all professional and lovely. The grounds are nicely kept, picturesque, serene and beautiful. The gym is adequate and the pool is nice and relaxing. I didn't take advantage of the Spa, but I'm sure that's good too! My partner said she had a nice massage there.

We arrived and were greeted by our 'butler'(!) who was to take care of us for the duration of our stay. We had booked a room which was enormous, I'm pretty sure it may have been the smallest room there as well. It had a big bedroom, and the most beautiful bathroom I've ever had the pleasure of using. The bed was very comfortable and the room itself was quiet.

The place is located up in the hills a bit in Dalat, you can get a nice view from the leafy grounds where trees and local flora are plentiful. They offer shuttle buses into the city at certain times, otherwise taxis are dirt cheap in Vietnam.

The restaurant is magnificent. Beautiful decor, and very nice food. The breakfast we had here was hands down the best, absolute best breakfast I've ever had in my travels. This includes dozens of countries, and countless hotels. The best. If you are lucky enough to be there on a full service breakfast day (i.e. when it's not buffet) you can really get a treat. The only downside is that the restaurant prices are a wee bit expensive for Vietnam standards, but this is literally the only downside to the whole place.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Our trip to Vietnam was marred by some unfortunate incidents up until our stay here. The staff at Ana Mandara are lovely, the service is excellent and the little touches really make this place paradise. I have quite high standards when it comes to hotels and service and Ana Mandara definitely met them and even exceeded in some areas. If you stay here I would be shocked if you were disappointed. I would travel to Dalat just so I could stay in this hotel again. I could go on and on. This place is a bargain. Book it!

To the staff of Ana Mandara, I'm sorry this review is so late, but thank you! Excellent job done by all.

love their fireplace in the rooms but it was still so chilly. great bathtub and a romantic place to spend with your loved one. we couldn't use the pool because it was too cold outside. they should try having it indoors instead as dalat is usually cold most of the year.

Great concept, a group of old French villas surrounded by park and garden, turned into a hotel. We stayed 2 nights in a villa. The villas have a communal area, dining room and lounge, which we had to ourselves, as we didn't see anyone else in our villa. Our room we was large, desk, 2 double beds, television, fireplace, and lounge, small balcony, so you can spend your time there, if sharing is not your thing. As with 80 year old buildings, a little dark and cold, they have their faults, but that is part of their charm. The bathroom was huge with an old fashioned tub lost in the middle. You have to get into the tub to shower. The shower is hand held, an attachment to give the option of fixing it to the curtain rail would be good. We were able to have a nice deep bath.

We had a Vietnamese set menu as part of our package, it was more like a banquet. We had a bottle of Dalat red wine but personally I wouldn't buy a second. The restaurant had an open fire. Buffet breakfast was included, and was top notch. Plenty of choice, with omelettes and pho cooked for you. The second morning was a la carte, but everything from the buffet was available and you were waited on. We swam in the pool. There 's also a pool table and mini-golf. The Location is out of town, but you can walk. It took 15-20 minutes. The resort is self-contained you don't have to leave it if you don't want. They also have a range of (more expensive) tours and spa treatments. We enjoyed an interesting and complimentary morning walk around the grounds with the hotel guide.

The service was excellent and staff were constantly checking that we were happy. At check-in they said they'd light the open fire if we wanted, but when we asked they said there'd be some smoke then finally admitted the chimney was blocked. I believe they probably shouldn't offer what they can't deliver. Overall, we found it very peaceful, indeed roosters crowing and dogs barking are the main disturbances, and full of old world charm. It cost $120 us per night.

Room Tip: In villas, the top level is probably better than bottom level.

This is a beautiful hotel and I found my 3 day stay very relaxing and very much to my taste. I had a room with a great view over the valley and I would recommend asking for an upstairs room. A lot of effort has been put into the design and feel of the hotel, with, in my opinion, a fantastic result. The room and bathroom was beautiful. Service was excellent. The food in the restaurant was good but some dishes felt a bit overpriced (i.e. the soups). The breakfast was really nice although breakfast was served à la carte on my last morning which did spoil the experience somewhat since service was VERY slow. The pool area was really nice with a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The hotel offers a shuttle to get into town during the day. Wifi is free and with good speed. Also, really good value for money (for a European traveller).

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room.
