“No longer at Hoan Kiem Lake!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

We arrived in Hanoi and were told we should go and "have Fanny's Ice Cream by the Lake" by quite a number of people - it was even marked on the map our hotel gave us. After a few times sauntering around the lake in an evening we never seemed to come across it. Eventually we googled it and sought it out - it is actually about 5 minutes walk south east of the lake, on Ly Thuong Kiet. Since finding it I have come across a few people looking lost with a map around the lake and when I asked they told me they were looking for Fanny's Ice Cream...

It is definitely worth a trip to visit Fanny's for an ice cream sundae as a treat, they have loads of variety and loads of flavours if you want to make up your own! The best ice cream I have come across in Hanoi having been here for 5 weeks - much better than Trang Tien Ice Cream which all the locals seem to recommend... although it is quite a bit more expensive. You are looking at around 100,000 dong for a sundae (just under 3 pounds) so expensive relative to other things in Vietnam but not compared to back in the UK :)

“The ice creams are still good but great improvement in Management!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

Many things have changed and improved since my last review about the place.
It's much cleaner and managed properly now.
Fanny has also adapted to International Ice creams adding stuff inside the ice creams to create different feelings and tastes.
There was a big party on the second floor but we were on the terrace so we were not disturbed.

“Tasty, albeit pricey, ice cream”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

Fanny provided a nice place to unwind and cool down after an afternoon in the French Quarter. We tried the coffee sundae and the happy cubes and found ourselves far more impressed by the sundae, which was extremely tasty. The only negative here is that it's quite pricey by Vietnamese standards - our snack here (a bit over 10 USD) was double the cost of our dinner!

“Best ice cream in Vietnam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014

The atmosphere is great with a nice terace providing a good place to relax and enjoy the ice creams. The ice cream menu offer a large range of choice and when I am in Hanoi I go there almost everyday to try the different one. It's always a pleasure to it Fanny's ice cream.
