“Superb Service!”

The staff here are outstanding! They are friendly and helpful, ready to help in every way. That's what you need on a holiday. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with a good selection of food.

Just returned from a week in Hanoi and three nights at the Hanoi Elegance Ruby, the other three being taken up travelling to Sapa and a night on a boat in Halong Bay. We were expecting good service after the staff had been so helpful organising the aforementioned tours and were not disappointed. The hotel is tucked away down a side street and the staff came out to the main road to greet us and carry our bags before offering us a welcome drink, giving us the low-down on the location and recommending a couple of nearby restaurants. We checked into the room and there was a laptop already switched on so we could immediately check our emails, which was a nice touch. The room was spacious and clean with comfortable beds, and we got a bowl of fresh fruit every day. The breakfast, which is included, is prepared fresh for you after you order, and includes everything from Pho to bacon omelette. I had poached and boiled eggs, both of which were cooked to perfection. Toast and cereal also available, plus croissants, and a plate of fresh fruit. Refills on the coffee/tea and lovely fresh fruit juices too - try the mango. The staff were unfailingly friendly and polite, and let us keep luggage at the hotel while we were out doing the trips. we got in from sapa at 5am and were able to chill out in the lounge area – where there's a sofa and a couple of chairs, TV and bookshelf plus shower/toilet – on the second floor until our rooms were ready. We were able to check in at 9am and catch up on some sleep, which was fab. We were so impressed by the standard of service that we bought the staff some biscuits and tipped generously. I heartily recommend this hotel and staying here was one of the highlights of the whole Vietnam trip. My husband and I are already talking about our return trip.

Booked this based on TA reviews and they are spot on. We loved this little, quaint hotel in the Old Quarter. We could walk most everywhere and the breakfast is superb! They are so accomodating and we had fresh fruit in our room everyday! I especially enjoyed talking with reception about what to do, where to go and some cultural insights on North Vietnam. They booked the puppet show for us and arranged the tour to Tam Loc which was great. Just don't sit in the very back of the bus as the road is bumpy.

Room Tip: We had the family room with a king and double bed. Nice balcony and free computer for my son.

We chose this hotel because of its high Trip Advisor ratings and were more than satisfied. Although we only stayed for one night, they treated us like esteemed guests. Each time we returned to the hotel, they served us a special iced tea. We arranged a trip to Sapa through their tour specialist, and everything went well with that -- I checked the prices and found that we couldn't have done better booking train, hotel, and tour guide separately. The pick up service at the airport and train station was perfect, and they even gave us a room for the few hours we had between the return train and our flight out at 10 a.m. The rooms and breakfast are very good, and the location makes it easy to explore Hanoi's old town and shops.

Room Tip: You might want to pay slightly more for the larger rooms. One of the rooms we experienced had a bed...

Although still cheap by western standards, the Elegance Ruby is fairly expensive by vietmanese standards. It is worth the money though. This fabulous little hotel has been our home when in Hanoi for a few years now and the standard is just as good as ever.
We stayed in a 'junior suite' which has everything we want including a laptop and Wi-Fi for our phones, tablet etc. They are not rooms of any great size but the thoughtful layout makes up for this and the balcony is perfect for a cup of tea and to watch the world go by.
Nothing makes an hotel more than the quality of its staff and the Elegance Ruby has the most friendly, helpful and welcoming of staff. The standard of spoken English is amazingly good they adopt you as one of the family and provide you with advice you can rely on. Sad to see a few of the 'old' faces gone but some new faces with the same service orientated attitude balance this. Most of the original staff are still there though and if you trouble to learn some vietnamese, it is wonderful to have this 'whole family' of staff to help you with pronunciation and new words. They are a joy to be around.
Breakfast remains a wonderful experience and the breakfast staff are always ready with a smile, some banter and a genuine desire to make sure you are happy. Good choice of vietnamese and western dishes and coffee served with condensed milk is an indulgent but intoxicating way to start the day.
The Elegance Ruby is situated in the 'Old Quarter' and if you have a bit of time and don't mind a walk, you can walk to all the attractions and Westlake from here. We never took a taxi anywhere in Hanoi. Hoan Kiem lake is very close by as are inummerable resturants which we will review seperately.
The Elegance Ruby provides a car service to the main airport and at US $18 it is a reliable way to get to and from the airport, and you don't have to constantly worry about being scammed. Still the rule rather than the exception with the airport taxi system.
We stayed for 14 nights in all in the Elegance Ruby during March 2012 and loved every moment of our time there. A big thank you to Dzung and the team, look forward to seeing you all again!

Room Tip: If you want a bit more room, the junior suites are the better choice but they are twice the price of...

We stayed here for one night after a very long flight from Manchester. We had prebooked an airport taxi with the hotel which was great. When we arrived we were given cold towels to cool off and fresh mango juice and sat down on a comfy sofa.... Heaven! The rooms are very clean and tastefully decorated. The staff are extremely helpful and speak very good English. I would 100% stay at this hotel if I were to return to Hanoi.
