4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2013

we turned up knowing the room was $12 (we had checked via agoda previously). The girl at the desk told us it was $15 but we bartered by seeing we would go away and book online so they may aswel give it us for $12... which they did.
The room was on the top floor (no elevator) and had a comfortable double bed, tv, fridge and hot shower. The only downside to the room was it was pretty cold due to being next to the hole for the A/C ducts on the top floor but still the duvet was enough for at night (summer will be fine).
Quite petit but as we checked out they asked us if we had drank the 2 500ml bottles of water and as we had assumed they were complimentary like most places we said yes and they charged us $1 for the both, like i said petit but when your on a budget and can get more for less it was a bit annoying - i said they need to put a price guide up for future visitors.

Room Tip: The water isnt free. The top floor is cold in the colder months

For $13- a night for a twin share this place is fabulous value for money! We had breakfast included, a balcony with street views and tv. The rooms were some of the cleanest I've come across in three months of travel and the location is ideal.

The staff are so lovely and the english is great. They helped organise our overnight trip to halong bay and let us keep out big packs in our room for free for the night and kept our original room for us for our return. The only minor issue was the wifi was a little slow but this is budget accomodation and did not effect my stay at all

I stayed in one of the rooms on the second floor. It had all the facilities I needed for the money I paid. Very friendly and helpful staff provided me with all the information about surrounding areas and recommended me some great places to visit.
I was staying in this hotel for 1 week and really enjoyed it!

The staff could not have been more helpful!!! I highly recommend this hotel for value for money and the friendlyness of service!!! I thank Nhung and her staff for making my stay in Ha Noi and surrounding areas so much better!! It is always great after a days travel to come to a hotel that feels like home and is always clean and tidy. Thanks for organising my trips to Ha Long Bay,Sapa and Laos. You have managed to organise the most disorganised man in the world...and that not easy!! Again thanks to all, Skin Darrah from Coromandel,New Zealand. :))

We were staying there for 4 nights when they were rebuilding their lobby (late november 2012), so we got a little discount for the room (12$). Now the room is about 20 $ like most of the other cheap hotels in that area, but the receptionist and the people working there are making the difference. They are extremely friendly, very helpful if you have any questions andy keen on making your stay as nice as possible. So we were glad that we had choosen this hotel. It was the hotel with the best athmosphere on our whole trip through vietnam.

ps: nice, clean twin bed room, clean toilets, good location (30 seconds to the hoan kiem lake), no breakfast, air-conditioned and quiet

Room Tip: Twin bed rooms are a litte bit bigger (but only a little)

Arriving wearily to Hanoi at 5:30 am without any place to stay & worrying about finding somewhere to drop off our stuff I wandered around the Old Quarter & found this beauty. I didn’t have to ask twice after I was quoted 300,000 VND or $15 USD for 3 people. I had enough confidence to not even check the rooms cos it wasn’t in some squatters back alley or stinky side street, rather it was on the main road in the Old Quarter smack-bang in the thick of the action.

Our room had a double bed & large single comfy for 3. There were high ceilings naturally cooling the room, aircon, hot water & a mini bar fridge. 51 cm TV with satellite channels. The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast, but they couldn’t compete with the fresh street food anyhow. There are 2 free internet computers & Wi-Fi which didn’t work when we were there. Its a basic hotel that has clean rooms in a safe area down the road from St Josephs Cathedral.

This budget category hotel is true to budget ideals by lacking an elevator & room service but redeems itself for its location close to the lake & in amongst the action in the Old Quarter. It placed us right in the middle of morning soup hawkers selling the famous breakfast cuisine of the north on the sidewalks. This is the advantage, being inside the Old Quarter makes it more enjoyable to explore on foot & to find your way back, getting lost is a prerequisite for fun.

A mere 2 blocks from Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, it is a short 2-3min walk that affords a great cultural experience in watching people practicing Tai Chi around the lake shore in the mornings.
