We had a bad experience at this hotel. The room was small and the bathroom was a wet-room style so you had to wear shoes after taking a shower. The bathroom also reeked of drains, and when mentioned to them, they came and sprayed airfreshener which wore off in about 2 hrs. great!
There was also no storage in the room and very little room to put your suitcase down. The staff were very friendly during the day and the hotel breakfast was fine, toast and juice but did the trick.
The location is right in the heart of the old town but is in very busy area. We had a large amount of culture shock as the streets are so busy and mopeds go so close to you, i would advise to stay somewhere a little further out, perhaps by the lake (Jasmine Hotel recommended) as there is more room on the pavements and easier to travel into the old narrow streets than living there. Room was also relatively quiet at night other than slamming doors.
We left the hotel early, at 11pm as there were strange noises coming from another guest in the corridor of the hotel, With no peep hole we didn't know what it was. It sounded like someone shuffling on the floor, moaning. After a while of wondering what it was and getting more scared, I called reception and asked them to check on the person outside, because at one point it sounded like someone either very very drunk or someone not very welll at all. When no one came i called back again. Everntually he came up and knocked on our door. My husband answered and it was the receptionist wondered why we called, as it was just a group of people sat outside our room smoking and not quite acting normal... We were furious - what kind of hotel sees nothing wrong with a group of 6 men smoking and acting drunk outside another persons room at 10.30pm. We were even more upset that he didn't ask them to move, he instead questioned us infront of the men. Evenaully we asked him to ask the men to move and went downstairs to complain. He then laughed at us. We said it wasn't funny, we were scared. We decided there is no point staying somewhere where you are physically scared. Trusting our instincts we then packed up our bags and left the hotel, getting rescued by a member of staff from fab Jasmine Hotel. Never Again!
