“Great location”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

We only stayed here one night but they allowed us to leave our bags and collect them two days later and on our return use a room to freshen up. Really helpful and friendly staff. Room was really comfortable and set at the back away from the noise of the road.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It's conveniently located in the centre of The Old Quarter in Hanoi.
Staff here were incredibly helpful and very courteous. Lucy, at the tour desk, was such a big help with invaluable advice on local sights, attractions and best times to view.
Breakfast saw a good range of local and western food.
Our room, on the sixth floor and facing the street was exceptional. Large, quiet and very comfy.
The nearby eating choices are huge. Small cafés, up market restaurants and the many street vendors all close by.
The weekend night markets are just a stones throw and a must to visit. The lake in the centre of town is a short walk and while it's lovely during the day, it really comes alive with street vendors and entertainment after the sun goes down.
No hesitation in recommending this hotel and when we get back to Hanoi, we'll definitely book here again.

I was somewhat concerned on arrival as the hotel is only 1 room wide and in a very crowded street in the old quarter. Turned out I had nothing to be worried about. Once inside this very substantial hotel the noise of the busy street disappeared. The rooms are not large but are comfortable. Breakfast is ordinary but the staff, especially at reception, are very helpful.

The location is great and we walked all around the old quarter. Cabs are cheap and we used them to travel greater distances, reception staff always wrote our destination in vietnamese so there wouldn't be any hassles with the cabs. There are plenty of good cheap restaurants right outside the hotel. Altogether a good hotel at a good price in a good location .

Room Tip: All the rooms appear to be quiet

Located right in the heart of downtown Hanoi a few steps from the main lake has the rooms very clean, comfortable and spacious enough. Even the bathroom has dimensions absolutely fine. Very good breakfast buffet both sweet and savory. It has 2 internet terminals in the loft above the restaurant. Negative note that fees may apply soap, shampoo, and in general all the objects for the toilet.

At first look i got worried as it was family vacation and the area and hotel looked from outside very small in congested area, a warm welcome by staff relaxed me and when checked in to room i thought not a bad deal, Later i learned that this is old HA NOI area and purposely our tour operator has booked it so that we can look around the most congested area of HA NOI still costliest in terms of realty prices. The Indian restaurants were at walking distance and more exciting was night market and lake area in walking distance! i have never seen such crowdie area and enjoyed stay in small but clean room with all amenities from tooth brush to shaving kit. Hotel is nicely maintained and obviously not so airy as it was old HA NOI. The lady at BAR was very friendly and with broad smile on the face which made a family drink more enjoyable with PIZZA's they made with great effort coz it was vegetarian!! over all very good place to stay and very good price for money!

Stayed for one night prior to starting an organised tour. The hotel was chosen for us and obviously price was a factor. A few things in the room didn't work properly, a/c was barely functional, shower fitting loose, toilet dodgy. No major problems but just a bit rough. Hotel has interesting history and plenty of character and staff were friendly & helpful. Would not be my first choice but fine for an overnighter or if price is major consideration.

We had a lovely comfortable clean room with a balcony and view of the old city. This place had such character and was within walking distance of the main lakes. The staff were super friendly and helpful and their English was pretty good. Good basic breakfast too. I would stay here again.
