First time we have been to Vietnam and Hanoi. WOW staying in the old quarter is an experience. Firstly the hotel, when we arrived we were greeted by a lovely girl named Lucy, who really helped us, this is a 3 star hotel so don't expect gilded tap wear. The beds where comfortable and the rooms clean, Better than any 3 star hotel I have used in Australia. Breakfast was adequate with a fine selection of western and Vietnam food and nice fresh fruit. Back to Lucy, she helped us book a trip to Sapa and yes I realize she would have got her cut from our booking, but we were happy to pay a little extra to have it all organized.

Hanoi for me was a 4 night nightmare & a lesson in buying online deals, a great example of not getting what you thought you had bought, or as I call it flushing your money down the toilet!
Small Room, Small Bathroom, Worn out dirty hotel, breakfast not worth the comment, the mistake was staying in the old quarter, having to walk in the gutters, as the footpaths are parking lots for motorbikes, or where the locals eat, or do business, so good luck with the traffic constantly beeping horns at you! We were supposed to go to Hanlong Bay but the boat was out of the water for service, instead we got 4 Diners, the only highlight was at the Press Club, & martini's at the Metropole Hotel in the lovely Bannana Bar overlooking the pool every night, which was at our expense. Would I go back to Hanoi? Yes but I would stay in the French Quarter, book my own accomodation & book a boat on the bay that was up to date, so next year I will give it a second chance & learn by my mistake!,
Judy & Jay's not so Amazing Holiday!

Room Tip: Go to another Hotel !!!

We only stayed here one night but they allowed us to leave our bags and collect them two days later and on our return use a room to freshen up. Really helpful and friendly staff. Room was really comfortable and set at the back away from the noise of the road.

We really enjoyed this hotel. It's conveniently located in the centre of The Old Quarter in Hanoi.
Staff here were incredibly helpful and very courteous. Lucy, at the tour desk, was such a big help with invaluable advice on local sights, attractions and best times to view.
Breakfast saw a good range of local and western food.
Our room, on the sixth floor and facing the street was exceptional. Large, quiet and very comfy.
The nearby eating choices are huge. Small cafés, up market restaurants and the many street vendors all close by.
The weekend night markets are just a stones throw and a must to visit. The lake in the centre of town is a short walk and while it's lovely during the day, it really comes alive with street vendors and entertainment after the sun goes down.
No hesitation in recommending this hotel and when we get back to Hanoi, we'll definitely book here again.

I was somewhat concerned on arrival as the hotel is only 1 room wide and in a very crowded street in the old quarter. Turned out I had nothing to be worried about. Once inside this very substantial hotel the noise of the busy street disappeared. The rooms are not large but are comfortable. Breakfast is ordinary but the staff, especially at reception, are very helpful.

The location is great and we walked all around the old quarter. Cabs are cheap and we used them to travel greater distances, reception staff always wrote our destination in vietnamese so there wouldn't be any hassles with the cabs. There are plenty of good cheap restaurants right outside the hotel. Altogether a good hotel at a good price in a good location .

Room Tip: All the rooms appear to be quiet
