“Excellent Value - Great Staff !”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

As regular visitors to Ha Noi, we now always stay at this hotel. Location is perfect, with a very short walk to the centre and Hoan Kiem Lake. Bed (& the room) was spacious & comfortable. Best of all was the wonderful service provided by the Manager Mr Tony and the excellent staff - thank you Tho, and also Tung, Hung and the other staff (including room service) whose names that I don't have (sorry !) ! MD Mr Lee was also helpful. Pick up from Noi Bai Airport was efficient, as was the organising of taxis for travel around Ha Noi, and the drop-off back to the airport. Excellent value for money !

Room Tip: Lift goes to the 6th floor. Restaurant is on the 8th (with views), so stairs from 6th to 8th floor.

We had this hotel for 5 nights as part of out tour with a break in between to go to Halong Bay. This is a very good 3-4 star hotel. Rooms were very comfortable with a huge king bed and a nice flat screen TV with a good variety of stations. This hotel is in what was called "Onion Street" right in the middle of the old quarter with easy walking to most everything you want to do and see. Great bar (the Polite Bar) around the corner as well as a good French style pastry shop.

What made this place outstanding was the staff. They could not do enough for you, with recommendations for restaurants, sights and assistance with luggage etc. They even have porters and door men who go out of their way to assist. I dont think a place has to be 5 star to get 5 star service, and this place proves it. They held some of our luggage for 2 days while we went to Halong Bay.

Breakfast was outstanding. Omelette or eggs to your liking, plenty of hot food, cereals and fruits. You could not wish for a better start to the day. Breakfast was also on the top floor with views across the old quarter. Pity the weather was not so good when we were there.

The only small issue, and I hope they can rectify this, was that the shower was over a spa/jacuzzi and the shower curtain was not in a place to go around it which let to too much water on the floor and windowsill in the bathroom. This led to some mould in that area. Im sure with a little redesign this would be easily fixed. Overall was very impressed with this hotel and the wonderful staff and would definitely stay here again. We leave today, so this is a current review!

Room Tip: Both rooms we had were good, but only one had the spa, so if you want a spa you should ask.

My husband and I stayed at the Imperial hotel for one night in February, 2014. Located on a quiet side street, the location is excellent. Central location in walking distance to most museums and main attractions.

Our room was very large with a huge bed and very big bathroom. Although a little dated in decor, our room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel had free Wifi with a strong connection.

The breakfast buffet was located in a small room on the top floor and was average. Not a large variety of choices, but the quality of food was ok.

The front desk and breakfast room staff were very pleasant and helpful. The front desk arranged a cheap taxi to the airport for us and offered to help with other travel information.

Overall, although an average hotel, for the price it was very good and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a moderately priced hotel in a great central location in Hanoi.

An excellent hotel overall. The location is in a quiet little street in the old quarter, but still very central. The room we had was really nice, and clean. The staff were excellent, spoke English and were very helpful. And the complementary breakfast was great, too. Highly recommend this hotel.

This little gem is well hidden in the center of downtown, in a relatively quiet corner of a street full of cafes, restaurants and shops. It is within walking distance of most destinations downtown.

The hotel is rated only three stars but it has all the attributes of a four star hotel except for a restaurant. However, the service and the attitude were five star. My every wish was anticipated, breakfast preferences noted, it was uncanny. Not even in a five star hotel in Singapore do you get such service.

Should I be coming to Hanoi again, this hotel will definitely be my choice.

Room Tip: Corner room is largest.

Our second stay at this Hotel. We turned up at 10 pm at night needing help as our hotel we had booked (because this hotel was fully booked) had taken our money and reservation and didn't reserve a room!!! The wonderful reception staff helped us find another hotel for the night took us there and we are ever so greatful. We returned the following morning and stayed for the next two nights. Beautiful big rooms, Welcome drink, Great staff and lovely breakfast with wide choice. Very good english and very friendly staff. If this hotel didnt have a room available again then I would defer my trip. Central location in old quarter next to lake.
Thankyou to all the staff at this hotel we will definetly see you again

Room Tip: Any room is beautiful

We were given a room on the second floor which was small and dark, the window looks at air conditioners, we went to Halong Bay for a few nights and on our return were placed on the third floor where you looked at the back of an old tin house and you could here the people in the house next door watching television and it sounded like they were showering in our bathroom the walls were so thin. We have been to Vietnam three times, we will not be going back to this place on our next trip. Location to City is good, however I'm sure we could do much better just down the road.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room above the fourth floor and facing the city.
