When I think of the Silk Path Hotel in Hanoi the main thing I think of is excellent staff and service. To have staff greet you by your name in a four star hotel is unusural. No matter what I asked for nothing was a problem and all the staff were happy and smiling and you could see they loved working there.

The hotel is on the edge of the Old Quarter and from there you can wander the streets and see the sights. To go a bit further in a taxi costs next to nothing.

The rooms were a bit on the small side but to be expected with a city hotel. We paid extra and upgraded to a room with a little courtyard outside on the fith floor, it was really worth the extra money to have the extra space.

The breakfasts were very good and we had dinner at the hotel one night and it was excellent. The menu catered for all tastes, and was very reasonably priced.

Overall a wonderful stay in Hanoi and I would recommend this four star hotel.

Overall we stayed 5 nights at the Silk Path. It is centrally located in the Old Quarter, a short walk to the lake, market, water puppets etc. Rooms are well appointed, clean and quiet. The staff are very attentive and we found the service excellent. They stored our bags at no charge for our trips to Halong Bay and Sapa and offered us showers in the sauna/gym on our return while we were awaiting our room. Silk Path's breakfast and meals are also excellent. Highly recommend.

A two night stay at Silk Path Hotel proved to be an excellent choice. The hotel is fantastically located in the Old Town and a short walk to almost everything we wanted to include in our stay. The rooms were great - attractive and really clean and had everything we needed, the staff were really helpful and pleasant, breakfast excellent and both the bar and restaurant did OK too.

Had a fantastic 4 nights here. For the first 3 we were in a deluxe on 10th floor. Facing the street- great view. Went to Ha Long bay for a night and they held our bags which was great. Our last night we were upgraded for no charge to an executive room, rm 910. Great quiet room with a balcony. All amenities in the hotel were fantastic. The showers were not just the best we'd had in Vietnam, but best ever! Beds were super comfortable as were pillows. Had a couple of meals in restaurant/ room service and all were fantastic. Nasi goreng was incredible. The service was excellent. We would definitely return!

This has been our first experience in Vietnam.
A warm welcome, quick check-in, a nice room....
The staff is really nice, the breakfast is good, the location is excellent.
You can walk to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, some museums or to the very downtown and enjoy a beer watching the chaotic traffic.
I can´t remember anything wrong.
Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Silk Path for a total of 5 days which included us going up to Sapa on the overnight train and staying one night n Sapa and then returning by train to arrive back at Silk Path at 6am then staying 3 nights then leaving again to go to Halong Bay. When we did both the Sapa and Halong Halong Bay trips the hotel were only too happy to hold our bags s we only needed to take a 30ltr Bagpack for the overnight stays, which made life a lot easier in not having to take our large suitcases with us. We we checked in for the 3 nights they, gave us an upgrade to a Suite which was very nice for no extra charge. As others have mentioned all the staff at the Silk Path go out of there way to be friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. The buffet breakfast has a very good amount of variety and we ate in the restaurant twice and was very impressed with the quality of the food, pricing was also very reasonable for a hotel. The location is great for first time visitors to Hanoi as it is close to the old quarters, the lake and also the train station and also lots of very good restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. would certainly return to the Silk Path when next in Hanoi

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if you do not want noise from street as it is on a busy intersection with...

We arrived around 6 o,clock and it was very busy and was concern where the hotel was but i should,t so. The hotel was on a busy shopping street and near the lake which was near all the shopping and eating places. The hotel was a 4 star and the breakfast was good. We had room 508 and it was very quiet.

overall a good hotel and would stay there again.
