During our stay in Vietnam we spend 3 nights in total in this great hotel. While we stumbled upon it initially and only planned to stay for a night, we liked it so much that we decided to stay on for another night and even return after a trip to Ninh Binh. The rooms are spacious, clean and newly decorated (it seems), they feature big and comfy beds, nice ensuite bathrooms (actual separate showers - a rarity in Vietnamese hotels of this category!) and new flatscreen TVs. But what makes this a memorable and really friendly place to stay in are the lovely, relaxed and very helfpul staff, who are great at organising trips, bus journeys, airport transfers... We also loved!!! the free Western breakfast with all sorts of different variations on the egg theme ;-)
We had a great time in Vietnam and would definitely return to the Rendezvous Hotel!!!

My fiancee and I stayed here for two nights and loved it! The staff is attentive, enthusiastic and full of advice. They arranged a motorbike rental for us - we definitely recommend seeing Hanoi this way. The breakfast is lovely - lots of options all included in the very reasonable nightly rate. The location is great - just a short walk to some of the main attractions and lots of good local food right nearby. Free internet in the lobby doesn't hurt either! The rooms were comfy and quiet - newly put together. We already mentioned the place to folks we've now met in our further travels in Hue, Vietnam.

After Saigon, I traveled to Hanoi and stayed at the Rendezvous on the recommendation of an Australian woman I had met on the Mai Kong Delta. I quickly understood what she meant when she said she loved the place.
The service was exceptional, from picking me up at the airport and the train station, to arranging which tours to select that would best meet my needs, to the room service & the restaurant. There was always someone at the desk who spoke English.
The rooms were clean and beautiful, with that characteristic charm that captured the old section of Hanoi. For the price, I felt like I was in a 5 star place; there is no better value in the area.
I loved it so much that I made the hotel my base while I toured Ha Long Bay and Sapa, staying a total of 5 nights. I am just a teacher from California who was traveling to find herself, not some promotor; this is my honest opinion. The pictures on their website are accurate, what you see is what is really there. I plan to stay there again next summer.

Unfortunately we only had 2 nights in Hanoi with Luke, Sarah and Matt. We have been to Hanoi on two previous occasions. This Hotel has to be one of the best value in town. A nice size room (king size bed plus single bed ) with plenty of window area, space for luggage, good size bathroom/shower, efficient airconditioning, plasma TV and a fridge that actually keeps the beer COLD (not just cool). You need cold drinks in this City! We had Room 404 which was at the back of the Hotel in a nice quiet area. There were no views, as such, of Hanoi from the windows but Hanoi is not a city of views. There are no lifts in the Hotel but that is of no concern - the boys in the Hotel are more than happy to take your heavy bags up and down the stairs and walking the stairs is no problem - easier than walking the motorcycle littered footpaths of Hanoi. We travelled through Hanoi a few days previously on our way to Sa Pa and Luke kindly offered to get a private car to collect us from the Airport for a very reasonable fee and then allowed us to use the Hotel whilst we waited to catch the train to Sa Pa. He also allowed us to leave our unwanted luggage there until we returned some days later. The Hotel can arrange for your laundry to be done cheaper than what you can do at home yourself. The Vietnamese staff (Anh and others) speak very good English and nothing is too much of a problem - much more personalized service than you get in the big Hotels. We felt very comfortable here. When I read some of the trivial complaints people put forward, I wonder what they really are expecting in coming to a city like Hanoi- one complainant said this Hotel is expensive... hey, stay in Singapore and sit by the pool for your next holiday - these are real life experiences not to be missed. This is not meant to be a 5 star luxury Hotel - it is to be used as a base while you explore the great City and has everything you need. GIVE THIS HOTEL A TRY... I WILL BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU ARE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and food was good. There's a couple of Aussies working there, which can make communication a bit easier, although the vietnamese staff also speak and understand english; just not as well.

It was a sort of oasis of homeliness on an otherwise quite busy vacation.

Oh and it has a bit of a backpacker atmosphere going on, if you're into that :)

We had a fantastic time at the Rendezvous - mostly because the staff were so warm and friendly. We spent a couple of nights there and then went out to Halong Bay. When we got back, it was like coming home. All the staff wanted to know how our trip was and welcomed us back. The hotel is in a great location - we spent most of our time there walking around the streets and to the lake. The staff were always happy to show us how to find places - even going outside to point us in the right direction. The rooms were large with excellent airconditioning and minibar. Breakfast was tasty and snacks in the cafe were quick and yummy. This is a great hotel at a great price.
